MAF Cleaner
Okay, I picked up some CRC MAF cleaner today. Oddly enough, AutoZone had it. They never have anything I want...but I guess the chance paid off.
Anyway, it says on the can that I have to disconnect and remove the MAF sensor to clean it. Do I really have to? I mean, on my CAI, it's right near the opening. Just take off the filter and it's barely an inch inside. I could hit it with the spray-straw with my eyes closed (probably a good idea, too...have you read the warnings on this crap
).
Anywho, is it really necissary to disconnect the battery an' all just to spray the MAF wires?
Just looking for advice.

The maf sensor comes out with two screws and a electrical clip. Very easy to remove. No need to disconnect the battery. Make sure you leave it out about 5 minutes to dry before putting it back in. If you spray it while still in the MAF, the cleaner may pool, or not dry, or get sucked into the engine.
Yeah, while taking the filter off for cleaning (you might see my other thread on that) I popped the cable off, took the screws out, and had a look at it. To be honest I couldn't see any dirt or grime. I guess that's a good thing, right? It's been in the car without a clean for nearly 24k miles. I sprayed a few spurts into the side opening, where I could see what looked like a resistor an' such, let it dry, then put it back in. Fortunately I still have my stock intake getup so if I fk this up, I can always just take it out.
