If you have a build date, when did you order?
my Mustang arrived last Friday. Placed my pre-order in January, official order Jun/09/04 
but now on transit to Germany

I posted the original message. My dealer e-mailed me back today and said I am priority 11. Can somebody tell me what order things happen as far as a Vin released, build date released, and all of this other code information all of you have.......

Ken, what dealership did you order from? I ordered from Freedom Ford. When I first got my build date and VIN almost a month ago, it was scheduled for 10/18. But I checked last week for the status, and it changed to 10/25 for the build date.

Assuming your dealer has allocation available to fill your order, you should get a VIN fairly quickly now. From the time the dealer enters the order it should only be about a week if he has any units available to order. Your priority of 11 puts you 1 spot from the top of the list for that dealers' orders. Again assuming that there are no holds or delays on your set of options, you should then receive a build date the following week.
These are all based on best case scenarios which rarely seem to happen. With you ordering that long ago I think there is something going on with your dealer that they haven't made clear to you. They either never placed the order back then and have just recently placed it.....or they don't have allocation to fill your order at this time. If it is the first case then you should get a VIN right away. If it's the second case you should find another dealer because they know exactly what their allocation is and should have at least made you aware of any delays.

I told my dealer that I am going to
if I don't see it before X-mas, since I will be home in Minnesota at that time.
