I still do not have a build date and I ordered the day after prices were released. Anybody have any idea when I may get a build date?

 

Unfortunately there are way too many variables involved to accurately tell you a build date. Many many people on this board can testify to this. It seems most of the delays or mis-communications have been with the dealer rather than Ford.

 

I placed my order around 9/16/04. I wonder if I will have it before December? For those who have gotten them do you know when you ordered it?

 

If you don't have a VIN yet the problem could be at the dealer. Are you priority 10 or a least a low number and how many orders does (s)he have in front of you?

 

I placed my order on 9/13 and have a build date of 11/1.

your VIN number should be created on a thursday or Friday so I would check every Friday and make sure your priority is 10 or something low like that.

Ordered 9/23 with a build date of the week of 10/25.

 

I ordered on 09/21 - No VIN or Build date yet.
Dealer changed the priority from 99 to 15 on 09/28.

I ordered mine on June 27th. Dealer called me on Friday and told me my build date was 10/25. He said should have it around Thanksgiving. My priority number was a 28. He had two other cars in front of mine.

I talked to my dealer on Thursday and he told me we could take care of filling out the order for my 05 Mustang GT over the phone so all I would have to do is come to the dealership and give him my deposit and he would send the order in.

If I talk to him today or tomorrow, have him start the paperwork and meet with him on Wednesday is it possible that I could get a VIN and build date this week, or does it usually take a few days (or weeks) to get the VIN and build date?

When I talk to him should I ask for a low priority number?

Yes low priority but also ask how many are in line ahead of you. The cars are pulled on Thursday by Ford and first thing Friday morning you can check if it has been serialized. I would think if the order gets entered on Wed. then two weeks you may have a VIN.

 

The Priority was a 10, and no modifications to the order.

 

I ordered July 7th and the dealer actually put my order into the system July 16th. Priority was 15. I got a VIN on September 27th and build date about a week after that. Build date is week of October 25th.

I ordered on 7/29 priority was a 25. Got a VIN# (serialized) on 9/23. "Sub to plant" on 10/7. "Build date" showed up on the computer on 10/13 as, "week of 10/25".

 

Ordered on 9/16 and had VIN / submitted to plant status by Monday 9/20. I called once a week week to find out if it had a scheduled build week. Friday, 10/15, I found out that it had been bucked with an ETA of 10/30. The system never showed a build week to my knowledge. The sales manager says he checks all the cars once a day.

 

I ordered mine I think around 9/10/04 and received VIN number and build date for week of 10/25/04. Bek got me the build date on 9/27/04.
