So I finally ordered my '06 GT

I got
GT: Deluxe
Paint: Tungsten
Interior: Dark Charcoal
18" Fanblade wheels
Wheel locking kit
Anti-Theft system
Front side airbags
Interior Upgrade Package
Spoiler Delete
Five-Speed manual transmission

I have a question though well a couple. I got the Vehicle Order Confirmation and I also got another form which I was told was the only DORA I could get right now because Ford isn't currently making the '06s.

The other form has codes on it for the paint trim and options. At the bottom it reads "Clean Unscheduled Order"

Is this the DORA others have been getting with their '06 order?? Because I saw that others have recieved their DORA and now I'm not sure what the heck is going on :scratch:

I also have a priority 24... is that good, bad.. normal?

All depends on what priority your dealer gave to other people. I'll assume their are a bunch on "20's" in front of you. (the lower the number, the better)

 

I don't know how the DORA works for an 06 order since the 06 model year doesn't start until August 8.
The order status being listed 'Clean/Unscheduled' makes sense since Ford isn't scheduling 06 builds yet as far as I know.

As to a priority number of 24...IMHO that's not a bad number to have, my 05 order was listed as a 20, and I got my car in 9 weeks.

Look around and learn more about the Ordering Process (try All Ford Mustang) To get your car as fast as possible you need a Priority of 10 that is the highest. I would get ahold of your dealer and tell them to up the priority. better safe than waiting.

Congrats! I only have my VOC so far and that says I have a priority 12. The dealer also said they only have an initial allocation for 9 2006 Mustangs, only 2 of which being GTs. Lucky I'm the 2nd order for an 06 GT! As long as I don't get shafted somehow ::knocks on wood:: I should be good!

Yeah I just saw that there were several that had their DORA for their '06 so I was confused when I was told that I couldn't get an "actual" DORA yet because Ford isn't building the '06 yet as others have reported getting their DORA.

Just wanted to know what one looked like so I could make sure I actually have an order submitted to Ford.

 

I checked on All Ford Mustang and read a lot about how to track your order once you have the DORA... but I'm still unsure about wheather or not I actually have a DORA.

Can anyone clear this up for me? Anyone let me know if what I have is the DORA or not?

I don't know if the same report is generated out of CONCEPS, but my DORA does not look like that... your DORA should have the legend written "DEALER ORDER RECEIPT ACKNOWLEDGMENT"
That looks like a status inquiry, the DORA will not say whether it's C/U or locked in for production.

 

So does this mean that my order hasn't actually been ordered? Anyone else with an '06 have a DORA that reads like Rony's?

What you have is a copy of the screen on concepts where a dealer places an order with all of the dates whited out. A DORA is generated usually the next business day.
As for the priority code, it makes no difference what code your dealer assigns to the order , what matters is how many other orders with lower numbers. If you are the only '06 Musyang order then it would make NO difference if your priority was 10 or 50, it would be the lowest # in his order bank.

'06 allocations have NOT been given out yet so dealers have NO idea how many '06's they will initially be offered or what the mix will be of V-6 vs GT. That goes by a weekly commodity constraint once orders have started to pull.

I was told this was ordered on 6/3/05 and I was given this on 6/5/05 and told this was all they had. That they couldn't get an actual DORA because Ford wasn't making '06s yet.

So should I contact my dealer for my DORA now?

I just don't want to be one of the many who have been told their car was ordered only to find out it wasn't for several months.

 

Wow a dealer open on Sunday. if it was ordered on Friday, they should have gotten a DORA today, tomorrow at the latest.
