I don't want to start an IUP thread

I was talking to my ford guy as I do once a week. He prods me to make sure I don't want a 2005 and updates me regularly on his available stock(Holding out for a Titanium 06). Anyway he called me today and had some good news for me. Apparently as of yesterday he is now allowed to order 1 in 3 mustangs with IUP. I'm not sure if that means anything as he is based in Canada and most of you are American. I asked him if he's sure, and he said "Yep word just came down".
Take it for what you will but my family has been buying cars from him for 23 years and he is straightforward and knowledgable. I have persoanlly purchased 6 cars in the last 9 years from him and he always seems to know about every issue/recall and any other important news.
I really did not want to start an IUP thread but this may be important news for some of you that are desperately seeking the IUP and I figured it would get washed out in the other 19 page IUP threads.

It goes along with what has been on the forum regarding IUP the last few days regarding cars with IUP are apparently being built this month.

Just got back from the dealer where I anticipated ordering my Mustang. I wasn't able to order with IUP (no surprise) so I didn't order at all. They actually told me that the IUP may not be available until the rest of the year! I told them I'd wait til Feb to see what happens, and that I was willing to wait for MY car to be build the just the way I want it. Just today I was able to build the car at the Fordvehicle.com site WITH IUP; you'd think they'd yank that off the site if it was not going to be available eventually.

Confirmed - I just called a second dealer for fun and spoke to the sales manager. He said the exact same thing and said he ordered 4 IUP GT's this morning. He said he was allowed 4 of 10. So pretty close to what my trusted dealer had said earlier.

Now I'm a bit confused because the dealer said the order would not go through with IUP, but then said they could send the order to Ford, but it would just sit there in Michigan. I'll have to give the dealer a call and get the story straight.

He's right it will just sit, but in the mean time you don't want a bunch of other orders to get put in ahead of you. You want to be in line when the IUP availability comes back.

This is the news I received today (I'm in Canada):
New commodity restraints on the upgrade package were announced. For Feb build the commodity is at 30% rather than 50% . For March
it remains at 50%.
