So I installed my Hurst shifter about a month ago, and love it. The only issue I have with it, maybe its normal, is that when in neutral, it does not spring back to the center between 3rd and 4th. For example, if I am sitting at a stop light and my car is in first gear, and I put it into neutral, the shifter stays toward 1st and 2nd. Is this normal?? Did I over tighten something?? Did I just get a bad shifter?? It also does this if I am in reverse or 5th, but not as bad. Thanks for any help.

 

It should sit between third and fourth when in neutral. I wonder if you installed it properly? You may have it rotated 180 degrees (remember that one side of the bottom of the shifter is offset further than the other).
