I posted this in a couple places and I am getting some really mixed reviews and would like some more input. So I was wondering how much you guys think I can pull for my car. I am thinking about moving onto a new project and starting from scratch. Its a 2005 and I just hit the 50k mile mark. All the mods are listed on my site in my sig. Its in great condition and runs great, the s/c has only been on for like 7k miles. Would appreciate the input, thanks!

 

I don't think mod's get recognised even by a dealer, my 07 gtcs I paid like 43 for it and they'd only give me 23 so noo way would I you can google to get a ball park price

 

I'd guess if you were selling it to a private party maybe 20-22K, dealer trade in a lot less. So many s197's on the market right now driving down the price, and it will only get worse (IMO) when the new motor hits next year and guys start trading in for the 5.0.

You'd be better off to part the car out, put it back to stock, or as close to stock as you can, and then sell it. People shy away from modified cars. I know I would and I own one. Besides that Supercharger is worth far more here on the Forums that it is on the car. IMHO

Easy...go to www.autotrader.com and use their trade-in marketplace feature.

You can even enter your modifications, and they will give you a price for which you can either trade the car, or sell it to a local dealer outright. Just take that value and add about $1,500 for a private party sale.

Personally, I don't buy modified vehicles, and I know for the most part, you don't get your money back on mods. I am also getting ready to sell a modded vehicle, and I'm setting it back to stock as much as possible. This way, the new owner can start with a blank canvas

To give you an idea, my car is a 2007 GT with appearance package, Shaker 500, heated seats, side airbags, IUP, etc. It has 3,500 miles on the clock, exhaust, and suspension mods. My offer was $19,100 (again, this is wholesale). So, yours is a year older, has more mods, and 46,500 more miles.

 

My Brother-in-law bought a '05 GT new. It has 19k miles, not driven in the winter and is garage kept. Only mod is exhaust.

He was offered 20k for it. He paid 31K.

 

No offense, but your private party guess is waaaaay off. He'll be lucky to see 16, when I was looking last year before the market went really soft I was looking at 06's with ~10,000 miles and $5-10,000 in upgrades for $20 even, perfect condition. So year ago, with newer vehicle, 1/5 the miles same mod cost... doesn't add up.

 

When I was looking at getting a Challenger R/T back in May the Dodge dealer I was at was willing to give me $14K for my GT with about 40k miles and basicly stock except for my Hurst shifter and SLP Loudmouth exhaust.

 

No offense taken - and it was a guess - just like every other post in this thread
