A dry heat is basically no sweat. Down here in Florida I work outside, so I'm soaking wet weather it's raining or not. You don't breath so much as drink the air. When i went to vegas, the lack of humidity was literely a breath of fresh air. I would definitly trade 95 degrees with 75% humidity for 90/5.

Krash, I'm jealous. I've got to get up to Lake Tahoe and cool off. We've got smoke from fires down here in the Sacramento Valley. Around 6,000 lightning strikes caused about 400 fires across Northern California since Sat. (cough, cough)

Actually, you do sweat in "dry heat".
It just evaporates so quickly you don't notice it.

By the way, I had my 'vert in Palm Springs a couple of weekends ago.
With mid-day temps in the 110 range, the only time the top was down was early morning, and long after sundown.

Ed,

I'm down here with ya! The Stang gets to spend the summers up there, not me! lol

Yeah, the air was pretty thick down here today. What part of the valley are you in?

Krash,

I'm in Chico. Notice the Bidwell Mansion in the background. This morning the smoke's really bad. It looks like we're living in a bowl of grayish brown soup.

Your 2007 Vista GT/CS Vert looks great!

Where are you Krash?

Downtown Sacramento today... I have two residences, one in Sac, and one at the South Shore. I lived up there for years, but my mom passed away two years ago, (her life insurance policy was used to pay for the down payment on the Stang.) and she left me a couple of businesses to run. Ever heard of Zelda's Pizza? So now I spend a LOT more time down here in the valley. YUCK. I also have several rental properties that I need to take care of.

Chico? Hell! It's WAY hot up there!!! Well, not so bad with the smoke. That's one good thing about it...

I'll be heading up to Tahoe Thursday night, as we've got a kart race in Reno on Sunday.

There is no such thing as too hot for verts, just crank the AC with the top down. It was 113 and sunny here last week. Same thing pertains to too cold, just crank the heat with the top down. Now it definitely can be too wet for a vert...

Nah... just drive faster, and the raindrops won't get to you!

And I wouldn't know, because my car doesn't even come out of the garage if it looks like it's gonna rain!!!

Krash, my sincere condolences on the passing of your mom. I lost my dad in Dec. 2006.

Zelda's Pizza? That's in downtown Sacramento? Yes I think I had a salad there a couple of years back when I was visiting a friend that worked at Sac State. It was good.

I was just sitting outside having a cafe latte and watching the girls walk by at Peet's in Chico with a friend. It's too smoky to enjoy taking a walk. I don't think it's too healthy to be outside exercising in this goop.

Lucky you driving your Mustang Vert around Tahoe. Have fun at the kart race in Reno.

Thanks Ed, It was a tough loss, although she was quite sick for the last year and a half of her life, so her passing was somewhat of a relief...

Yes, Zelda's is in Midtown Sacramento, (21st & N streets) SALAD??!! You need pizza!!! lol

And hopefully the smoke clears out by the weekend. Reno's directly downwind from the fire!!! There'll be too much smoke!

I bought the Mustang, and modified it, for driving the mountain roads around the basin. I love going out over Luther Pass to Carson Pass and Kirkwood, or out to Markleeville, and over Monitor Pass to 395. Fun stuff!

And if the Mustang wasn't enough fun to drive, my girl and I have a couple of TaG (Touch and Go) racing karts that we race at Prairie City & Reno. I bought one last year, flipped in it during my second race, and while I was recovering, (Broken collarbone, 3 broken ribs, and a collapsed lung) I put her in it, (as she wanted to run over it with my Sport Trac) and never got it back! So I had to go buy another one so we could race together!

SurfNut, you picked a beautiful setting for your pic. Great looking vert! I love Hawaii. Which island are you on? How do you like your light bar?

Krash, okay next time I'm in Sacramento I'll drop by Zelda's and have a pizza instead of the salad - LOL!

Yes, I love driving our Mustang in the mountains too. She handles the curves really well. I have an automatic so I take it out of overdrive. I know a manual is a lot more fun in the mountains. If I were in Lake Tahoe all summer I'd have the top down all the time. At night I'd just turn on the heater and warm up the seats.

It's smoky again today. They say it's in the very unhealthy category up here. Very little wind so maybe that will help the firefighters put out the fires more easily. Some folks are driving around with their vert tops down because the smoke is keeping it cooler. I'm keeping my Mustang in the garage and mostly staying inside until the smoke gets blown out of here.

Sorry too hear about your accident. I had a collapsed lung too. That was no fun. That's an experience I'm trying to avoid having again.

Hope you and your girl have fun driving your karts in the Reno races.

I drive my vert in the HOTTEST part of the world. Sorry Wardog07, Kuwait City is on average 10-15 degrees hotter than Baghdad. 122F sounds like spring here More terrifiying is the UV index which reaches 20+ (I had always thought it only goes up to 10). Anyways I still love my vert and drive with the top down at night or early morning with the AC on ofcourse. During winter the temperature is perfect for top down all the time.

You got me Mike - I agree, you are the most miserable down there. I've spent my "soggy" days at the port. I don't know how you can stand it. My hats off to you.

I'm on Kauai. I like the light bar, sets my car apart from all of the other Mustang verts here. The rental car companies have tons of them out on the roads.

main reason for going with the parchment top insted of black. we get into the 90's and low 100's with 80 to 90 % humidity....you walk outside and condensate not sweat.
BTW going to a show today with the top down...
It doesn't matter if it's only 4% humidity when the temperature is above 115*

SurfNut, thanks for another beautiful pic of your Mustang. What a great setting. Love the green hills in the background.

Ah, the "Garden Isle". I would guess it's never too hot for having the top down on Kauai. It must be perfect for driving a convertible.

My wife and I have vacationed in Hawaii four times during Dec - Jan. We were on Oahu and Maui. We'd love to see Kauai next time we go.

I remember the Mustang convertible rentals on the road to Hana. What a great drive to be making in a convertible.
No way would anyone ever confuse your beautiful Mustang for a rental!

We have the same problem here in Florida. The rental agencies must have a locked in market on torch red V6 verts. Unfortunately they look too much like my torch red GT vert. I'm seriously considering the CDC style bar.

For the on topic content, It's never too hot for the top to be down. I can remember only two days this year that I didn't put the top down and they were due to low pressure cells sitting over the state dropping copious amounts of rain. Now that it is summer and our monsoon season I only get to put the top down in the morning, by mid afternoon we have our usual frog stranglers.
