Glassback Factory Option in 2009?
Is there any retractable shade on the inside?
Otherwise, no thanks...don't really want the inside of my car open to the world all the time.
How tough is it to just have a sunroof option...like every other manufacturer?

I think it would be a great option. I'd want a shade to go with it.
A few years ago I saw a show (I think it was PBS's hometime) where they had a glass window for the bathroom that had some sort of polarizing element in it. When you flipped a switch the window became opaque. Flip the switch back and it was clear. I do not know the name of the technology, or if the default (off) setting was clear or opaque, or the energy requirement. But if you could flip a switch....

Granted the seam on the Saleen looks better than the CDC but I would love this option. The concept had it and I've even seen tinting and coloring on striped cars where you can barely tell it's there until you get inside.
in my book
I remember seeing a thread asking the same question. Someone made the point that a sunroof would compete with the convertible. Wonder if that's the case with other convertibles. It seems convincing.
I would have considered the glassback option at the time of purchase. Ford would offer it at a cost far below what the aftermarket world is capable of. I just don't have the cash to fork out for the option now.
probably because the saleen setup looks 1000% better the the CDC one. They still haven't engineereed a curve along the windshield header on the cdc one so the trim pulls away about 1/2" fro the upper corners in no time, not to mention Saleen's has no trim at all...The full panoramic roof with motorized front end and dual power shades only adds $1300 to an Edge.

.I have a convertible, but if I went with a coupe next time, I would want this.
For those who say this diminishes the cars heritage, you don't have to worry since its image has already been destroyed with Ford offering a convertible
. Crazy bastards ... what were they thinking
! Oh wait - I bought one
!
