FACTORY HID Lamps for 08!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting. I would have thought the Saleen HIDs would give that same piercing glow like the Audis, BMWs, and Mercedes.
Do we have to do the relay/wiring upgrade for the S197 lighting systems? The wiring diagrams seem to indicate the low beams are controlled by the smart junction box's low current board, while there are switching relays for the high beams and fog lamps. Daniel Stern thinks those are now power relays, but they're located in the power distribution box. I'm thinking the S197's don't need any wiring/relay upgrades and just need a good pair of H13 bulbs.
Dan Stern recommends Sylvania XtraVision H13XVs.
Has anyone checked the rated lifespan on the SilverStar H13s and H10s?

For the $900 Saleen wants, I would have figured they used projectors. I know they sell projector HIDs that fit inside the OEM lamp housings on the lowly Crown Vics. Why couldn't Saleen do the same for the S197s?

Saleen was trying to do the "bi-xenon" lighting system using a reflector to simulate "high" beams, that is why the optics are different and there is no "glow". It's still a rocking headlight system and I am glad I spent the $$$ even though it does nothing for performance. I just like to see where I am going.

Long overdue. Hopefully they will include quality optics as HIDs ruthlessly reveal substandard optics by way of glare. With quality optics, they're definitely the better performance lighting option.

I was hoping for BMW/Audi-quality HIDs... I'll just stick with the H13XV's. No SilverStars for me because Sylvania admits to the SilverStars having reduced lifespans compared to the XtraVisions with no additional lumens output. The color is just changed by way of a filter.

I have dropped $1099 on the headlights and another $150 on the foglights to have HID.
Compare that with $40 and $40, yeah... That's a lot of money that could have been used toward a performance mod and not a looks mod.
Ah well, I am happy anyway.
