Got off the phone with my dealer. He told me that my coupe is still not coming. He also told me that every dealer is getting a vert so they will be shutting down production of the coupe for a while. That didn't sit too well with me, nor with him for that matter. He told me that he called the regional rep and gave up the vert to get my coupe and that it should be pulled this week or next.... but still couldn't gaurantee it 100%....

I hope that it will pan out. If not, i guess I get n 06.

Didn't me either, but the dealer wouldn't lie to me. The owner and my father-in-law are high school buddies.

There are only about 3800 Ford dealers in the US, and not many more in Canada and Mexico that sell Mustangs. If you figure every dealership gets two ragtops, that's only 12,000 convertibles. At the rate they're producing cars, that's less than two weeks of downtime.

At this point.....I just want my freakin car. Not having the SHO has put a serious crimp in my car situation.

Huckin Ford anyway...you would think I would learn.

BTW, can anyone provide a smiley putting a bullet through its head?

We really don't need any more emotes. We have enough as it is.

As for the wait, once it's over all is forgotten.

Great, looks like will have a v6 ragtop at my dealership then. They sure can't get any coup gt's in. So i'm sure it'll just be another v6 to add to the lot.

I too got a call from my dealer today regarding my convertible order. He said their dealership only gets one vert this year --and it's mine!! Since I ordered it in Sept 04 I would think I would get some priority.

BTW - after this bit of good news, he said they may not get it into the production cycle until May. He said 3 components of my order - it being a GT, IUP, and 5 speed - are what is causing the delay.

Could it be that dealers are now using the IUP delay as an excuse to cover for their lack of allocation?
