meh, I don't know why some people are so averse to modding. Who cares what the car MAY or MAY NOT be worth in 20-30 years? Just have fun with it!

The musclecars of old are that are extremely valuable are valuable because of their LOW production numbers, most are the FIRST of their model and sometimes the only ones, and people want things that are rare and have a MYSTIQUE and the old cars have a mystique that the new musclecars just don't have or won't have for many years if ever. Low numbers means low......a few hundred to 2-3 thousand for the entire run not 10,000 per year for 5 years. Matching numbers, original or almost original condition, low mileage and highest horsepower engine options are a given for massive increase in values of the old cars. Finally the "IT" factor that the classic musclecars have. If you have never owned one or grown up around them you just have missed out on a life altering experience. Crusing in a classic "big block/massive torque/*****in' styling" machine is one of the most awesome things someone can do in life. I love my '07 and even though I have modded it as close to a '70 Mach 1 as possible it is not the same thing and never will be even with all the technological advances in engine, suspension, comfort, safety, mileage, power, ect. A great experience in its own right...........just not the same as an original '70 Mach 1. Mod the hell out of your ride and enjoy it. If you want an investment for the future by stocks. With the sucky economy now stocks are at "once in a lifetime lows". With some luck in 20-30 years from now you will have enough excess cash to buy whatever car you want...even a "classic" 2009 Mustang GT.

Yes.. my 2008 will not be the last design.. but:

Body wise: it is still the same platform: S197.. I bet that some people on the streets will not clearly distinguish between 2005-2009 and the new 2010 from a distant, especially in darker colors..

Performance wise.. it is the same engine with only 15hp increase..

Options wise: the 2010 has some new options

Also, it is nice to have something that is no more produced

Same thing here Dan

Actually the platform itself, is known as D2C. For it's the body/model name, which is referred to as S-197 !

I got my '05 for the long haul. I'm still liking it and probably will still like it when the 2010 gets its "refresh".

(I, too, still do the look-back!)

ditto here...whenever I see a 05~09 coupe in any color, gotta check it out- but honestly, almost three years later still cant walk across the parking lot without looking at my 'same old mustang'...they wont be around forever, neither will we, but thank God for the enjoyment these cars have brought to so many folks...hope it continues with the '10, but that ones just not for me- everyone has thier favorites, and I'm sure with the new skin a lot of folks will 'see' theirs, and be doin the lookback a few years down the road. but for me the 69 fastback is #1 looks-wise, followed closely by the much refined yet still very very attractive 05~09 coupes.

Love my '07 (delivered July '06)...can't wait to order an early 2012 for a 2011 delivery date...maybe keep the '07, maybe not. While the current s197 is a great design, the 2010 is an equally great evolution. Can't figure why so many don't like the rear end...vey European looking....Ferrari like, I think its what makes the 2010 a great design and the black cladding....well, go look at the Ferrari 997...hmmm, black cladding!
