The end of the 05-09 Mustang
The end of the 05-09 Mustang
How many are happy that Ford has stopped production of the 05-09 stang? I know some folks are annoyed they they don't have the latest body style anymore but I have to say that I like the idea that my car (2007 black mustang gt) will not be built anymore. I'm one step closer to having a rare unmolested all stock 2007 Mustang GT.

I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I'm not too crazy about the new body style with the droopy eyes. As for modding, I am WAAAY beyond the point of no return. lol.
But yes, my car will no longer be the "latest" body style. Oh well.

I know people that think there are way to many on the streets. Glad I have a green one. I still see to many ll on the road but not as many as other colors. That orange sticks out also not to many around. I like the new one kinda, but only adding 15 hp is a real downer in my book.
This is my last Stang or toy for that matter.I'm absolutely happy with my S-197. I've enjoyed the car hobby for the last 30 years, met all my goals and now its time keep this ride until my life ends.My retirement is coming up in a few years and I plan to travel and enjoy every mile in my Grabber GT.

I am glad that it is more retro than the new one IMO.
With me though, it doesn't mean I won't buy more Mustangs or other cars.
It means I never intend to sell this one.
BTW my dad retired over 25 years ago and is now on his 3rd retirement car.
i bought my stang for a load of other reasons besides "having the latest body style" its for ME remember
if your only concerned with having the latest for the sake of having the latest your not a stang guy and your pony badge should be revoked.
my next mustang will be in 2014 for the 50th anniversarry
now thats special and they might have more HP, im not digging the new body style like i thought i would

I have to wait until I see the '10 in person before I say if I like it or not. To tell you the truth, back in '04, I wasn't all that fond of the "new" s197 either.
But that was based on assorted pictures...
It wasn't until I got my eye on one in PERSON that I realized just how much I LIKED this car. Taking a GT for a test drive over Thanksgiving pretty much sealed my fate. When the salesman had to go back to the dealership for a meeting, he give me a gas chit to fill it up and told me to go have fun.
I did... 70 miles worth or so.. The rear tires got about 500 miles on them of course.
When my dad unexpectedly passed away a few weeks later, I decided life is WAY too short to be screwing around, so I placed my order early in January.
The rest has been very fun history.
And no, at this time I do NOT have any intentions of selling my car. I might end up buying a 2011 (if they give it the bigger engine), but I'll still have my '05.

I really don't mind being in the 05-09 category, because the new stang is a refresh, and plus I know my 06 is faster than any stock 10's
