Maybe postings like this should be kept behind the closed doors of the members only area. People are aware that this exsists and are welcome to join, however, for some it is a tough slap in the face to see a post like this one and not have the means to join. I myself am making double car payments since I couldn't part with my old Mustang and couldn't wait for my 05 not to mention double full coverage insurance>insurance</a>>insurance>insurance</a></a>, house payment, + a buck 98 a gallon for gas :bang: on and on and on...

Hey Brad, I gladly signed up for the site. I look at $15 and just say, no take out for 3 days, thats all. Plus, you have helped out so many people this year in regards to ordering, problems, and having updates, so I just wanted to help. Just keep me informed about TheMustangSource t-shirts. Please make one with your new logo, the one with the sillouette of the "05. You make one in grey or royal blue, count me in for 2 , I love the new logo. Are you thinking about hats with your new logo on them? This would be awsome, as I would keep it at the dealership, and wear it when its a little cold out. I can't get enough of the logo, its great looking.

  1. Team Mustang Source started when a forum member volunteered to make a donation so that I would have the opportunity to go to the 2005 Mustang Launch Celebration. It wasn't even my idea.
  2. Several members followed suit, and I was able to make the trip. I absolutely would not have been able to go without their support.
  3. As a way of saying "thank you," I created Super Stallions, which was then renamed Team Mustang Source. I realize the benefits are relatively minor, but there are things under development that will provide more benefits to those members.
  4. I posted the Anthem and Cornfield commercials for everyone to download and enjoy, and quickly exceeded my bandwidth allotment. I am charged when I exceed my bandwidth.
  5. In order to control traffic, I had to limit the number of people that could download those commercials. Being a business major in college, I know that the more you charge the fewer people will buy. I've been asked why I charge $15 and not $5 or $10. The answer is simple: too many people would join if it were cheaper, and no one would join if it were much more expensive.
  6. I do not think that it's fair for someone to steal content from my site (used with permission from Ford Motor Company) and give it away for free. It's not fair to me for the work I put into this site, and it's not fair to the other 150 people who paid to view the content that you are wrongfully distributing. (I bet you steal music too, but that's another discussion.)

Yes, you have every right to make money on the site, just state that up front: "This video will only be available to TMS members and cannot be redistributed by them. If you want to see it and other videos and news ahead of nonpaying members, pony up the $15, and I guarantee you'll think it money well spent. I'll even refund the money if you don't agree".

It's all in the presentation.

Regarding bandwidth in general, there are other solutions. There's no need to incur high bandwidth charges for video hosting.

I won't flame anyone who won't or can't pay. I understand that. For me it's time to join up as a thankyou while I'm able to afford it. I've copied all the Timeline, Shows, wallpaper photos as well as the pdf documentents, ads & everything. It's been fun to name & organize the folders on my computer. I have my own Mustang Anthology thanks to this site. And the news I've gotten allowed me to get my dealer to get me the I.U.P when I was tipped it would be temporarily available again on V6 Premiums. When this site was down a couple weeks ago & all I had was the other major forums to go to, I quickly learned how they're about a month behind some of the news we get here. Thanks Brad & to all the members. Besides, I want to download that new commercial to add to the collection.

Musicians prefer that you don't download their music for free off the Internet, but they realize it's a possibility.

Brad, a suggestion - not an argument I would prefer. Because some people might get a wrong idea. Since a lot people are illegaly download the music from the net doesn't mean that a lot of people should download other stuff from the internet for free.

There are some here that appreciate what this site offers and have donated in order to help it along. If Brad or anyone else was making money on this, so what. That just means he was smarter than the next person in starting this site. Regardless of the money issue, I have learned tons of info here, met lots of people, and am entertained as well. It's cool to see what goes on around the U.S or the world with people who have similiar interests as myself. I visit other mustang sites as well, but this is one of the most informative, friendly and funnest of them all. I appreciate this site, so I, that's me, decided to pay. I don't believe that anyone strong armed me into paying. Some here should give back a little instead of always taking.
You put it very well, and I agree. I know that Brad, and many other folks are giving their time and talents to keep this site running as it does. If my donation can help defray some costs that I know they incur - then that is a good thing. Thank you Brad and those behind the scenes for doing what you do.

This is ridiculous. First, Brad has no right to complain if the video gets out to people that did not pay. He is did not produce the commercials, film them, or anything like that (I am assuming). He has no intellectual property right in the movies, etc. Having said that, I had no problem whatsoever compensating him for it. heck, I would have donated $15 for no additional material. He is providing a service here in his upkeep of the site. No one else here wants to take the time or expense to do it. I am personally grateful he has done so. He morally deserves to be compensated for his time. Furthermore, it is $15 for Christ's sake. $15!!! No one, and I mean no one, that has a PC is in such a position that they cannot afford $15 if they wanted to. I mean, there are no homeless people on here struggling to find their next dinner. Sounds brash, but it is the truth. So, it comes down to this: Brad doesn't have a right to the $15, but he deserves it. No one here can't afford it. And, if you really don't want to pay it, DON'T! Life is full of choices.
