Shea,
That must be the problem. I was doing my burnouts the same way... heal/toe (real light on the brake) and dump the clutch. Back to school for us!

I have a ProCharger and drop in the 3000rpm range. I haven't had trouble with slippage yet. I typically release the clutch before putting my foot all the way down. The power is there so I let the clutch hook up then let the engine do the work to get the tires spinning.

Yeah I used to do that method of holding the brake down and giving it gas with my right foot and have the left foot free to use the clutch in other cars. I could shift though a few gears while doing a burnout and not even move an inch.

But...the thing is with the mustang you have to realize its 4 wheel disc brakes and there is a lot more holding power in the rear vs. an older drum setup.

Basically I think you just answered your question as to why the clutch is slipping. If you have the brake fully pressed down and dump it....somethings gotta give right?? If you dump it with no brake applied....the only thing that is gonna give is the pavement when its begging for mercy!!!

My solution to this is not to do it, unless of course you don't mind wasting valuable (read expensive) driveline parts, tires, and possibly being rewarded with a wreckless driving ticket.

Not going to get a ticket at the track before a run.
