Disconnecting SRS?

Disconnecting SRS?
I'm planning on doing an IUP upgrade, and under the instructions for cluster removal it states the only thing you must do is disconnect the SRS, supplemental restraint system. Can I just unhook the negative battery terminal? Or should I pull a fuse? or....? Thanks in advance
