I do like the front end of the GT-R better than the GT. Seems to resemble the more shapely and cleanly styled Concept front. The split headlight effect cleverly mirrors the '70 front end too. Perhaps this front presages what some upcoming neo-Boss SE might look like.

Dodge's Charger is essentially going to be a Dodge 300C.
From what a close source has said to me is that the Charger shares no sheetmetal with the 300, has a fastback roofline, and has a wide, boxy profile. He told me that it looks really good.

I was worried the Concept had an early lead but it seems the production gt is pulling ahead.

Well alot I'm sure alot of you concept lovers will have the aftermarket to help you convert your gt

I'm going off of what a couple of car mags I've read have said. The story was that Dodge felt short-changed by being stuck with the HEMI station wagon, and was going to get a four-door 300-influenced model, with the Dodge front grille instead of the current 300.

I think that the production 05 GT is the best. The only mod. I would really make is the scoops on the quarter windows.

I'm glad to see the production GT beat out the concept... I like this one so much better.

So many people were against the new GTO's styling, what are the old Mopar guys going to say about a 4 door Charger? At least the GTO is still a 2 door.

I don't think they should take the old muscle car names and put them on 4 doors. I am against them putting Charger on a 4 door, just like I would be against putting Torino on a 4 door, or Cuda on a 4 door, or Mustang (god forbid) on a 4 door. Its bad enough GM put Malibu on a 4 door. Even resurrecting the 300 name for a 4 door, although I think you could get a 300 package on a 4 door Chrysler in the 60's.

Just my 2 cents.

but dude, the Charger still looks better in four door than the GTO does now. but i do agree with you that there shouldnt be any other muscle cars resurrected only to become four-doors.

Production GT all the way. I really did not like the concept at all. I remember seeing it at the 03 naias, and I thought that the mustang was going in the wrong direction. It wasnt that bad, but the production is so much better. And with the Gt-r, that is a racing-only type thing, and I don't like that either.
The Gt seems great. I love the new engine, the fogs, everything.

Nah, I didn't like the concept neither. Props up to the production V8 and V6. The GT-R is for nascarstuff, not the streets, so that doesn't apply to me. 200 & 300 horses make my world go wild. The 400 concept hp, will hopefully be in a next SE. A Mach 1 I hope.

That's another thing. I think there couldn't have been a better new stang model to make SE's from. Seriously. How cool lookin' will the next possible Boss, Mach, GT 500 -350, Cobra,... be? I can't stand thinking of it too long, I overdose on excitement. The GT looks supercool and is zero rice. The fact that it doesn't have a hood scoop but 300 mini-stangs inside makes it even more cool for me.

Thinking like that would end up in me waiting forever.

LOL, but as heinz says good things come to those who wait. they need to amend it to add but those who wait too long dont get squat! :drive: so the first real SE will be in my driveway. might be sleeping in it once the wife tears me a new one......but its all good. and i too like the production more than the concept. i wasnt big on the taillights. they just seemed out of place IMO. i did love the enginebay and gauges on the concepts tho

it's tough to answer the poll...there are some things in all versions that are nice...if they could meld all the versions together, i'd be happy...

that being said, i chose the gt concept

That fact that they had them on the GTR tells me they may make an appearance on some model, be it the Cobra, Shelby or in the Ford Parts catalog.

Hard question to answer since I like the production models very much, but I voted GT concept. If the concept were available to buy in the same price range as the production vehicles, I'd select the concept, just on slight aesthetic preferences.

Especially if I could get that red 'vert with the brushed aluminum light bar.

I'm surprised at the lack of love for the V6. I assumed it would at least tie for second. And I definitely did NOT see the V8 almost doupling up the second place car!!

I voted for the GT-R. I know, there's alot to love about the Concept and the production 'stang. But certain things just bug me on both. A high beltline here, a fender flare there. No matter how often I look at the GT-R, though, I just smile when I see it. B)

I voted for the GT concept, but in a perfect world I'd combine aspects of the GT production and the GT concept. I like the tailights, the interior and the design of the door panels down to the rocker panels on the production GT. I like the concept's front end and hood scoops better. I'm certain the concept foretells the design of the next Cobra, or some other SE model.
