What happens when one hits the rev limiter? Just the engine just stop revving? Does it continue to turn at the limited point? I have not taken one that far, and probably won't until mine gets here....someday.
I believe it cuts the fuel supply until the engine reaches a safe RPM.

Actually it's the smoothest limiter I've ever experienced! It just quits pullin when you get to 145 mph. No drama, no jarring jolt of the engine cutting power on you and then revving back up as I've experienced on some other vehicles.

It just quits going faster.

The hood shake doesn't happen all the time, just when the wind is just right.

Hit triple digits for the first time over the weekend on the interstate, then brought her back down to my cruising speed of 90.

I've had my Ranger up to the limiter at least 10 times (115 mph), but I go over 100 probably only once every 90 days. I don't really care about driving at high speeds, but getting there from a standstill is my obsession.

I did run 120 in my girlfriend's 2000 Mustang V6, right around the limiter cutting off.

And the '97 Mark VIII I used to have would still pull even past 145. My dad's had his Mark VIII up to 150. I said 145 was fast enough. :headbang:

Took the needle all the way one time on the 15-S slightly downhill. Thats about 150mph. That was with stock gears, Saleen Suspension and Nitto 555's. Couldn't do it now with 4.10's but I wouldn't do it again anyways.

I'll tell you this much, something changes at that speed. Everything is still.

Yeah, I hit 130 going through Camp Pendleton this weekend. At that speed...it feels like you are going so fast, that nothing could catch you.

go baby go.

The throttle is electrically actuated (fly by wire), so the controller simply backs off the throttle to hold either the maximum permitted vehicle speed or engine speed when it is reached. No fuel cut off needed, as SixtySix says "It just quits going faster".

I'm sure I'll get my GT up above 100 a few times. I won't make a habbit of it. I did take my my bike up to 150+ once. That was one of those perfect road, perfect night, what the heck! type of moments! When I slowed back down to 75 I felt like I could get off and push faster...

I wish we had an autobahn(sp?) or two in the U.S. One from California to Florida, one from Texas to ? what's up North? I guess Montana would be appropriate as they use to no have a daytime speed limit

I got to 100mph on the 110 S in Los Angeles to pass up those with molasses in their a**. Must say, the smoothest ride I have experienced in a long time.
Hey,

I love the 110! Especially northbound heading towards Pasadena. Lot's of nice curves. So YOU'RE that other black Mustang I've seen rolling around =)

Whaaaaat???..

C'mon Kev - get that thing on the Sawgrass Xpressway!

I echo those who say how easy it is with this car - your are crusing along at 80 on the highway - get on it to avoid some traffic - you look down and you are doing 94..... the car is just so darn smooth and seems to WANT to run at the higher speeds.....

Probably cracked 100 about 6 times or so - all on the Turnpike or the wide open Xpressway (Sawgrass) out west.

Highest was about 128 or so going side by side with my buddies Z06 - started at 80, hung with him to about 123, then I guess he pulled 6th and just WALKED on me....

It was a fun 8 seconds though.....
