so far i've only had it up to 130mph on the interstate. i let off because i thought the hood was going to come off
If the hood don't shake you are going too slow on an empty interstate,or in TX , WY, MT, NV. or AZ. and parts of Canida.
ROLL ON

I got to 100mph on the 110 S in Los Angeles to pass up those with molasses in their a**. Must say, the smoothest ride I have experienced in a long time.

If you have to change lanes and the wind hits the car the right way then my front end lifts a little, but I have had it up to 125mph on four occasions and have not had any problems. Except the road ran out from under me and I had to slow down.

What happens when one hits the rev limiter? Just the engine just stop revving? Does it continue to turn at the limited point? I have not taken one that far, and probably won't until mine gets here....someday.

Was taking a joy ride one late night and thought I'd just cruise around 80ish and let the engine breathe a bit, since most of my driving is stop and go city. As I accelerated and settled into a comfortable speed, I looked down and was doing 110MPH. I was supprised how comfortable it was at that speed. It's really easy to speed in this car on the open road. I really would love to let it go all the way to the speed governor but afraid of getting caught.

I must be getting old, back when I was 19 I had my renault fuego up to 120 on the I-5 and was more worried about the car falling apart than getting a ticket.

I hope all of this speed was experienced in Montana. Of course it was that’s the only place public road this kind of speed could be happening, right? I’ll have to visit Montana someday.

I'm pretty sure Montana no longer has speed limit signs that say "prudent and reasonable". They had to impose a speed limit or lose funding from Uncle Sam. :notnice:

I live in a rural flat area and just had to try it once.Ran up to 140 with no problem in 4th. Car is so smooth between 100-120 it feels like you are only going 70 or 80mph. I will probably not bury the speedo again though on the highway. Things happen pretty quick at that speed! I wonder what the shut-off point is?

I've hit about 125 with NO hood shake. It was a clear day with no wind here in sunny FL, headed N on I75, side-by-side with a 02 GT. Radar detector beeped, and just after backing off to 80, over the hill in the ditch was Mr State Trooper. He didn't even glance at us.......

Been around 105 a couple times, once without even realizing it. So, all in all, probably been over 100 about 5 times in 3 months of ownership.

It's true. I drove through there a couple of years ago and as you enter the state there was a billboard that said. "The sky's no longer the limit 75 mph is". :notnice: Or something to that affect. Kinda bummed me out, but there's still quite a bit of open road around my area for test purposes.

Renault Fuego! Woo hoo! 120 in one of those!?? Didn't think it was possible. How steep was the hill required to do this??

Had my parents 96 Grand Cherokee over 100 (actually got airborne jumping hills on the rural roads, THATS an experience), also our 77 Ford Ranger Full Size Pickup, also my 89 Taurus, and had the 05 Stang @ 120. No hood shake, I would've maxxed it out, but I was running out of road. I will someday. Went 130 in a 3000 GT. Its really not that fast, just make sure you know the road. The stang was much smoother that the 3000, I'm sure I could've maxxed it out with no problems. It's cool to see the yellow dashes turn into a solid line almost though. Where I grew up you don't have to worry bout traffic or cops that much...just deer. Have fun but be careful!

was on the way home from the gentlemen's club, and a g35 2dr pulls up next to me. he guns it, and i gunned it and dusted him by 100. hit governor, and bout 4sec later he catches up. had bout 5cars on him. i backed off and set CC at 70, and he kept tryin to race but i didn bite cuz it wasn worth it any more. (2am, no cars, 8ln 4ln each way interstate, dead straight). that 149mph comes on ya QUICK, i really think this car is capable of some high top spd if ya lower it and take it to an oval track (im thinkin 160+ stock, more for sure with 4.10s )
