I think ol' George is pushing some buttons :nono:

I must admit I do agree with him though, I don't think the price difference will be substantially different between different colors in a few years. The color pallete is so much smaller than back in the 60's as well, so there are not going to be many in demand oddball colors.

If you want to play the "what if" game, a lot of people with sonic and mineral grey cars think their cars might be worth more down the road. Lets say that the opposite could happen. Example, the public likes Vista and Tungsten much more, that the demand in the used car market is biased towards them and not sonic/MG (no flames, I have a sonic GT). The same goes for people with Legend Lime... what if Ford brings out DHG for '07 or '08.... that automatically (at least in my book) makes it the coolest green offered on the new models and could result in less demand for LL on the used market.

Bottom line... get the color you want, drive it and enjoy it. If you still have the car in 40 years, then worry about the resale value.

Color counts. But taste changes. Would you pay $12,000 for a '68 VW 'vert? No air. That's the asking price at a local shop that sells old cars that have kept new or restored. The same shop was asking $20,000 for a 289 CID '68 Mustang 'vert (auto, air).

This of course does not include the cost of the restoration...
IMHO, we'll never get rich with a high volume car like a 2005 Mustang GT, might just as well drive the wheels of it.

Exactly... personally, I couldn't care less what the future resale values will be.

This car is not an investement to me... it is my toy.

Right on, the only money being made is by the wealthy collectors bidding up the prices of special collectables when all is said and done. One of the firsts off the line may bring some dollars one day and some SE's. The GT's we would keep we would be lucky to recoup somewhat close to the costs of holding on to it.

For now its a not too expense toy that will be kept for shows and other sunny days.

Bottom line...
Nursing homes and cemeteries should be fully equipped for ground up restorations.

Start saving your pennies guys!

this car is too new to determine future value based off of a color. Its almost like baseball cards. More are being produced today than were produced 30 years ago. Over time, availability goes down, but the overall number produced stays the same. Sure, some colors will be more scarce, but you must also remember little changes between model years, unlike vehicles 30 years ago. Ford may come back with 05 colors in 07.

Vehicles produced today are not investments unless you store it away and dont drive it. In 20 years, bring it out with 30-40 miles on the odomoeter, then reap the rewards.

I'd say sonic or mineral gray since they are no longer being made. There is only 1 other sonic GT in my area. 4 Mineral grays and tons of red, black and silver ones now.

I would have to say Windveil Blue, Legen Lime, or Screaming Yellow. Honestly I like yellow, but how many cars do you see everyday that are yellow besides if you're driving one.

Demand usually has more to do with a cars value than how rare it is. Now, rare cars that are in demand/ high demand... thats were things get ridiculous, and fun. Not wrecking them does more for the resale value than anything else.
(Knocks on wood)

Just enjoy your cars.

P.S. I vote MG
