Car cover for '06 GT

Hey All,
I will be getting a car cover for my '06 GT. I live in Baltimore and the weather can be very MESSY...SNOW,SLEET,FREEZING RAIN,...you get the hint.I am not going to be driving the car in these bad conditions but it will be sitting in the driveway...that is not protected. So thats where the car cover comes into play.Let me have your suggestions.

Jack

Someone told me they just scratch the crap out of your vehicle. I don't know if thats true but I figured I would pass that along.

I believe I bought the weathershield HD. It seemed to be the best one out there bar none. I did some research on what was out there and I ended up getting this one. It does a great job. The problem is, you have to keep them clean or they lose there ability to protect the car. So I clean mine every few times it's used. In total I believe it was around $400 or so but it's worth it.

Yup, the thing with covers is that the car has to be almost spotless before use. If the car is dirty, you will absolutely get scratches.

Jack, since you asked for suggestions, to be honest, even though I keep three cars under covers, I wouldn't worry about the rain/snow if I were you. I don't think a car cover is going to offer much protection in those conditions - water gets through. And I sure wouldn't want a car cover frozen to my paint.

Make sure to give your car a good wax job before the winter and don't worry about it. (That way the car will be ready in case you get a nice day. )

The sun is by far worse for your car than snow and ice - unless you try and scrape it off, of course.

If you DO wind up getting a cover, I suggest getting two...a softer one for the bottom, a cheaper more water-resistant one to put over it. Kind of an expensive solution, but much better protection.

Just my two cents.
