Not to flame you or anyting i just have to ask, if you think that the G35 is an all around better car, why were you even wanting the mustang in the 1st place? besides price i don't understand why you wouldn't have just went straight for the G35 right from the start.

BUT if you are going to go with a car other than a mustang the G35 is a VERY nice car to go with, i even considered those before i saw pictures of the 05 stangs
Price was the only reason. The G35 coupe is about 10k more than the mustang, which is a pretty big difference. At the time, I had no way to afford the extra money. Things changed in the 3 months I was waiting, and I am now able to afford it. Obviously, if price was not an issue, I would be looking at much nicer cars than a G35.

Clemens, have you considered the 350Z rather than the G35? It's more of the muscle-style car. Not American muscle, but as good as Japan can do it I guess. I don't blame you for giving up on Ford, I'm sticking it out, but I don't blame you one bit. I just think the Z car is a lot closer to the Mustang. Besides, the Z car does have a similar following to the 'Vette and the 'Stang. Not as big, but just as loyal.

Gotcha! get what you want (350Zs are also very nice!) Its your money and you are going to have to live with the payments! if you wanted a Kia(I think you would need a good head examination!...but...) if thats what you want then i think you should get it!

Sorry didn't mean to double post! but to add on...

I do feel that i must tell you that if you still are interested in the mustang you should hold out on it! i didn't think i would ever get mine but when i did it made all the waiting worth it...find a different dealer...a good dealer makes all the difference in the world!

There is an old saying "cutting off your nose to spite your face". Getting a g35 instead of a Mustang is worst, you would be better off with a v6 off the lot than that thing. I'd keep my 98 windstar over a g35 if given a choice.
I hardly think a V6 Mustang is better than a G35....talk about "apples and oranges"! have you driven a G35?...I test drove one a year ago...it's a very nice car, but it's in a different class than Mustang.

I thought about the Z, but the G35 coupe has all of the best features from the Z (Except the extra power) but with extra luxury. The overall body lines are much nicer on the G35, and the interior is better looking. They are the same car in every other aspect besides look and luxury (and Infiniti has a much nicer warrenty).

He makes a good point..Nissan , and I would assume, Infiniti, are controlled by Renault; every purchase puts some cash in the French pocket !

Don't be ignorant. I hope you are not naive enough to think that the Mustang is 100% American made.

Get a clue. Probably 90% of the things in your house were made in another country. And the motors for Mustangs are rarely made in the US.

Clemens, the G35 is a fantastic car...I think everyone is just puzzled at how you could go from ordering an 05 stang to picking up a G35. They are at opposite ends of the spectrum.

The Mustang is pure power and old school stylin while the G35 is a refined sports import. I certainly couldn't picture someone with an order for a G35 who got shafted by his dealer turn around and say " I think I'll buy a Mustang instead".

Anyway, hope you enjoy the G. I can almost guarantee that in a few months you will get sick of the screaming V6. IMO

Yes, I agree most things people buy are not made in the US. So many components of the Mustang are not made here, but noone wants to mention that. The G35 is a great car, and I hope you enjoy.

Don't lecture me on supporting my country, I support my country a lot more than buying an American car will ever do. Japan is our ally and has been since WWII. It's not like he bought a North Korean car.
