I asked about getting some of my 5k deposit back. After he said i could get 4k back
First off, you don't ask for some. You ask for all. If they car has not been locked in, they can change it at anytime. Second, 5k? I put 500 even though I didn't have to, because my dealership has been nothing short of great. I had a build date within a week or two of ordering. It took me a while but I found the right dealership and I would have run for the hills if they asked for 5k.
[/b][/quote]

The asking for some of my deposit back was when I was thinking about keeping the order on, I didn't want to have 5K tied up in it. Rather than keeping the order on and never getting it, I just cancelled it and got all of it back.

Haha, you were probably light-years ahead of my order. We all know that the fact that I ordered it 6 days before you means nothing heck, people who orderd two weeks ago were 3 months ahead of me. Arg, time confuses me

I was being a smart butt anyway. The dealer probably kept the order and will put it in stock or has called another customer. Who am I kidding....

Yeah, I bet the car will be the next one built now that they will get it as a stock unit.

Question -- I ordered my Mustang GT in early December. I see some of you talking about ordering priority numbers...like the guy who said he was 10, then 17, then 41. Where on earth do you find these things out? I called my dealer (who is a very small dealership that mainly deals in trucks), and when I ask about the status, all that he says is that he really doesn't know anything until a build date is scheduled. Is there someway I can find out about the priority rankings? OH, and I know there is only one other person who has ordered a mustang from this dealership -- like I said, it's small. Thanks!

Well, he is lying. He should know when it will be pulled to be scheduled (for the most part, at least plus or minus a week). Basicaly, you need to find out how many mustangs are in front of you, and how many allocations your dealer has per month. He might be pushing your order back to get some stock units in, or he might only get one mustang per month, meaning you might have a long wait. My problem was that my dealer was putting everyone in front of me, which is why my priority number kept going down.

Regarding the $5,000 deposit and trying to get it back. Wow. We must be spoiled in the Detroit area. I asked what I'd need to place the order, he said $100.00. I was in shock. He said I'd get it all back too if I changed my mind. I also got x plan with no trouble.
