Buying from a remote dealer
#1
Has anyone bought a car from a remote dealer? That is, a dealer hundreds or thousands of miles away?
My step-mother's brother owns Sesi Ford in Detroit. I'm tempted to talk to him about ordering my '05 Mustang. How would the car be delivered to me?

you would probably have to pick it up or arrange for shipping. I have heard of some kind of courtesy shipment to a local dealer, but that still might cost you money for the shipping.

I live in Southern Calif. and I am buying my car from Pennsylvania through Bek355 (who is a fleet sales manager). You can buy a car from far away just make sure you talk to the fleet salesman and they can have it shipped to your local ford dealer for a nominal fee (usually around 300$).

As a side note, Going through this process I've found out that some dealers don't care to have cars shipped to them and to some extent even to ship out cars. For example BEK355 had to call multiple dealerships around my area to get one to accept the car to be delivered. As for why the other dealers didn't want to do this, I can only guess. I had to go out of state because most dealers out here are raising the price from 5k-10k over MSRP.
