The stang Owners I get tend to get reactions from are usually driving well cared for later models GTs, cobras or cared for vintage stangs

I have maybe had two acknowledgements from v6 owners in later models.

I think alot of people arent necessarily stang enthusiast...its just a car to them, which is why I think alot of people driving the later model stangs dont respond... they are oblivious to the 05.

*Hands Ian a hanky. Buck up cowboy.

For ur infomation I never "went out of my way" as u put it to come to the 05 lobby. I clicked on the "view new posts" link at the top up the page. You should try it sometime. Theres alot more to this site than just the 05 lobby.

Ian, go back and read my 2nd post if u think I believe all 05 owners are snobs. Dont be stubborn. Its good reading.

Well, I dont really know what else to say without repeating myself. I guess the thing that irks me the most is this "division" in the Mustang community alot of u created. I visit many Mustang sites online and I can honestly tell u it mainly comes from 05 owners.

As for all those who feel we 04 owners arent giving ur cars the proper attention. I can assure u that there is no conspiracy. I think alot of u are just being overly sensitive.

Final thoughts by Jack Handy. (fans of SNL will know what this means)
Try and remember we are all part of the same community. We may live on different streets, but we all live in the same neighborhood.
Awwwwwwwwwwww lol

I have an idea...don't say anything at all. If anyone is creating a division in the Mustang community, it's people like you who like to start drama. You came in here talking about how the Mustang community as a whole thinks that '05 owners are snobs. I'm just defending myself as an '05 owner, as well as the rest of '05 owners. You can go back and forth with me all into next month if you want. But I will have the last word, while you do nothing more than make yourself look like a fool. I afterall, own an '05 Mustang and am in here for a reason. I ain't going anywhere. You'll just go running back to the hole you crawled out of, which will be perfectly fine with me.

And why would you hand me a hanky? Maybe to clean up the mess you made when you came in here. Other than that, keep your hanky. Who carries a hanky anyway?

By the way, you say you are familiar with SNL, but it is "Deep Thoughts" not "Final Thoughts" by Jack Handy. If you are going to make a reference to something, try to know what you are talking about. Same can be said about your comments on '05 Mustang owners.

Edit: And you have yet given any sctual examples of any one '05 owner being a so called snob.

i should chime in here just to say that i have had the chance to hang out with quite a few 05 owners and they were in no way snobs, they were some of the coolest people i have met in socal, and there are plenty of snobs around hear trust me.

By the way i love deep thoughts.

Jeff, unsubscribing is not getting the last word. It's running away with your tail between your legs. Why don't you PM or e-mail me the message you originally posted before editing it out. I didn't have the pleasure of reading it.

Edit: And I just found out from a Moderator that you were forced to edit your 11:38pm post an March 20th, as in take back what you originally said. And then you edit it and say that you are not going to stoop to my level when you obviously wrote something bad enough to actually be forced by a Mod to take it out. And that makes you a better person than me, right?

I'm almost afraid to chuck my loose change in here...but I never was a smart man.

I don't own a real Mustang, but I have a lot of little ones. There are 14 on my desk at work, ranging from the '65 convertible to the '04 GT Concept. Recently, a visitor looked at my collection and said "I don't mind that '67 GT350, but I don't like the rest of them very much." My response was "Then I guess it's a good thing that this is my collection and not yours."

Isn't it sort of the same with the real cars? Without accusing anyone of anything, isn't it safe to say that somewhere, somehow, a few '05 owners might come off as snobs? Conversely, isn't it possible that somewhere, somehow, a few SN95 owners are jealous?

That being said, I think it's a leap of logic to say "all" or even "most" in either case. Consider the following alternate theory: Many average SN95 owners simply view their car as transportation, not as part of a great automotive heritage. Because they aren't proud of their car, their radar isn't tuned to pick up other Mustangs on the road, old or new. Lack of acknowledgement may simply be lack of awareness.

I am jealous of anyone who owns a Mustang. (Yes, even a Mustang II - at least that would be a starting point for me...)

Brad, I agree with you completely. Jeff (Castle) came in here and said, and I will try and quote but he was forced to edit his orginal post, that "the Mustang world views all '05 owners as snobs". He said "all". Let's just say, I didn't take that too well. To me, he is a snob for thinking that. A snob is "one who affects an offensive air of self-satisfied superiority in matters of taste or intellect", and he basically defined that throughout his posts. I was simply defending myself, who loves all Mustangs and am not a snob. I was also defending the majority of '05 owners, who are also not. Some had simply stated, as I have personally experienced, that SN95 owners more times than not come off with a negative vibe. And I have done nothing to them to give them a reason to. So, the only reason I could think of is jealousy. And Jeff (Castle) has no right to say otherwise, because he does not know the people that I have come in contact, or that anyone else has. He tried to generalize all S197 owners and all SN95 owners, and came off looking like a snob himself in doing so.

Well, my rant is over and I will try and be more understanding to some people on here who rub me the wrong way.

This was the first weekend we had our 05GT Vert. For the most part everyone has liked the car. Our friend Bob says it is a chick magnet. I said funny you should say that. All I have seen checking out the car are all men. We stoppped at a red light and a blue truck pulled up really slow next to us and was checking her out. I glanced over and he gave me the thumbs up and said,"Great car."

Now on the street where we live we had one person send a message by the mouth of a child that said, "Mommy said she hates your car. She hates all sports cars." Now you have to know that this is the family who always has the best of everything and spends money for really strange stuff. Like Carpet in the garage, and tiled bar on wheels so thay can put it in the drive way and serve drinks. and have flat screen TVs in every room in the house, even the garage. And have Cable tv, Satalite tv, DSL line server, and a antenna on the roof.

I think maybe they don't like the car because it is prettier then their cars. What do you think?

Chapter 2 of my loose change:

There are simply some people who don't like the new Mustang. Education, financial situation and gear-headedness don't have anything to do with it. It is really easy to attribute this dislike to jealousy, but it is probably more complex.

I used to be tech support for a small computer company. One of the vice presidents owned a '68 Camaro, shich he loved. One day, I was startled to see a "For Sale" sign in the Camaro's window. When I asked the VP about it, he said he was selling it because the President thought that it sent the wrong message about the company.

WTF?

The rich people in your neighborhood who don't like the new Mustang probably have their own reasons, and it has to do with a lifetime full of perceptions, good or bad.

As for the few documented hostile SN95 owners, I think that their dislike of the '05 and/or '05 owners is the most complex situation of all. They have great cars - I especially love Bullitts, Machs, Bosses and Cobras. In many cases, the performance of their cars is superior to that of a stock '05 GT, and they have every right to be proud of that. Their dislike could possibly stem from the aforementioned jealousy to genuine dislike of the new Mustang's underpinnings, style, etc, to dislike of the owner's in the case of actual snobbery.

For me the most important point is "Do you like what you drive?"
The second most important point is "Can't we all just like Mustangs together?"

I stopped for some gas in this little town south of where I live. Normally, I pay at the pump, but there was no credit card machine outside. When I went inside to pay "Bertha" was at the cash register and she said," Is that there one of them new mustangs. My boyfriend wants on of them but they sure are ugly!" I couldn't believe this B!@#h had the nerve to be bustin on my car. Without even thinking I just blurted out," Ya know, I was thinking the same thing about you." She looked me in disbelief, and I just walked out. No offense tho anyone on the boards if your name is Bertha.
