Anyone recieved any BAD comments

I just had to ask this question because up until a week ago i had recived nothing but great comments from people! Then all of a sudden I am getting gas and tell the cashier i am the red mustang(so i can pay for my gas) and she says "is that one of them new Mustangs" and i answer her saying "yes ma'am" and all she has to say is "They look so Strange!" i couldn't beleive her! i asked her what she said agian( just incase i misunderstood her) and she answered that time saying how weird they looked! Then yesterday i brought my grandma to the post office and as i sat there waiting for her to return a girl next to me looked over and ROLLED HER EYES! Maybe i am just taking the critizm to hard but i can't imagine anyone not liking this car...maybe they were just jealous, but someone needs to make them watch Bambi so they can learn if you can't say anything nice not say anything at all!
Anyone else had any bad comments from people?
P.S. I did a search on bad comments and recieved none concerning this but i accidentally placed this topic in the which is better catagory( Because that was where the results from my search came from) So if someone could lock that topic it would be greatly appriciated! Thanks

Ruby looks beautiful. Just ignore the negative looks/comments.
I have had alot of people -come up and ask about the car and I always let them have a close look and check it out.
Several times I have seen people stop their car in the middle of driveways, store entrances etc... as they are taking a turn and I approach..
so far No bad reactions..

The other story is good too. A longtime friend on my Dad's is the parts manager at a local Chevy dealership. He wanted to see my car, so I took it by when he was working. He brought out about 15 guys from the dealership to check it out. I think some were mechanics and some were salesmen. They were asking a lot of questions. I got several good comments and no negative Ford comments. I would have gave a lot of $$ to had a pic of them looking at the Mustang outside of the Chevy dealership. I would have sent that to Ford. What a great commercial!

Aww thanks Dan! I think Rubys beautiful too!
I have had many positive comments. Everyday, someone is giving me the thumbs up (at least I hope it was thier thumb!), taking pictures, looking like the exorcist when thier heads turn completely around as they drive by. I had one guy in a cobra tell me he thought it was an awesome car. Most mustang owners do not acknowledge me, even other 05 owners who I give them the thumbs up but get no reaction from them - strange. I only had one guy ask me how I liked the car, then proceeded to tell me he hates it, thinks the style is ugly, etc. I figured he either hit his head that morning or hasn't gotten any lately. I thought he was funny. You can't ever please everyone, but have to please yourself. The car is fun to drive, looks good, and I am continuously amazed at how much attention it generates. Life is good!!!

I am not sure what youre talking about Jeff.. I dont consider my car "better" than other Mustangs, I just like it more personally. I can tell you that other Mustang owners have been more often rude and snobbish to me, than any other brand owner. I would have rather been able to keep my 99, loved that car, but had to sell it to buy the 05.
BTW, this forum is also a non 05 group, this The MUSTANG Source, not the 2005 Source. You wont find a site with better information about EVERY MY Mustang on the net, believe me, I looked before becoming a member.
Why do we need to post links to other sites? We dont. You are more than welcome to check out other sites. Stay a member here, and be a member elsewhere. Its no big deal really.

Spoken like a true moderator. lol First, I mentioned posting links to other sites cause, as this may be a site with posts pertaining to all MY Mustangs. Posts about the 05 make up more than 50%. Brad can correct me if I'm wrong. Dont misunderstand me. I love the site. I spend more time here than I do on any other site. With that being said. I have noticed the tone. Do u know how many posts I've read putting down the Mach1 or 04 owners in general? HUNDREDS Why is that? Why do some people think the only way to praise their car is to trash someone elses. I have never shared my thoughts until now. Cause frankly. I could care less what someone thinks of my car. I didnt buy it for them. I am simply bringing to light what I have witnessed. That 05 owners, GT owners in particurly, like to put down all other models of Mustangs. I am in know way implying that is the action of all owners. But I would have to say its the majority. Wasnt there even a post not to long ago about the treatment of 05V6 owners? So at least u admit theres a problem.
In closing. I have not had the "pleasure" of pulling up next to an 05. But when the time comes you can be sure that I would have no problem giving him/her a thumbs up.
STOP THE RIFT BETWEEN OWNERS

lol @ this thread. Just more proof that the Mustang world considers 05 owners snobs. If u dont believe me. Go to other Mustang sites and post a link to this thread and you'll see. Do u really believe everyone is jealous of ur 05? Get real. lol I have some news for u. We're not. Personally speaking I had a chance to buy a new GT, but after seeing one up close it just didnt hold a candle to a Mach1. Dont get me wrong. I have nothing bad to say about the 05, but it just didnt grab me like the Mach did. So for all u 05 owners who think their car is the greatest thing on the road. Remember, its not even the greatest Mustang. : )
Dont forget to post a link to other sites (non 05 forums).

I DO love the 05, and think it's the best looking Mustang to date. Thats why we bought one. There hasn't been an American car I'd have wanted to own until this one. I love the body style and retro looks. I've seen plenty of pre-05 Mustangs that I thought were nice, but never wanted to own one. I respect the performance of the SVT 'Stangs but the styling never "grabbed me". In the next few years we will see what kind of special editions (Cobra, etc.) come out and then give this one to my daughter, but for now I'm happy with it and consider myself lucky to have one. I don't consider myself a snob, and would never put anyone down that has a earlier model, they just weren't for me.
I (being the one to start this thread) see in no way shape or form how i said anything bad about the earlier MY Mustangs! i was just simple stating my experience and asking others if they had received any similar experiences. That being said i do not see how you can say that this thread adds to how "snobby" 05 drivers are. We are just as proud of our cars as any other Mustang owner is of theres, no more and no less!
Jeff, you can only speak for one person and that is yourself. You can't make general statements like the '05 Mustang is "not even the greatest Mustang". Maybe to you it's not. I personally would take an original '66 Shelby G.T.350S if I had the money. But I will happily settle for the '05 GT. I personally don't like the SN95 Mustangs. The earlier SN95's were ok, but I didn't like them enough to buy one. I had a '91 5.0 myself and that, to me, was the best looking Mustang since the late 60's. But you can't fault the new '05 owners for being happy and proud of their cars. I wouldn't go and say we are snobs. I am no snob, I know that much. I am proud of my car, and you aren't going to take that from me. A lot of us either have been waiting a long time to get a Mustang or perhaps just got lucky and were about to buy a Mustang when we saw the concept and decided to wait it out. It's been a long road and there have many months of waiting... many members of the forum are still waiting. It's an experience that neither you, nor any of the other satisfied previous model stang owner's could possibly understand. Personally, if you don't have an '05 Mustang and don't like it, as you have stated, so do not plan on purchasing one, why are you even here? I have never once posted in the SN95 rooms and have no plans or reason to.
I, as many others have said, have experienced a complete disrespect by SN95 owners out there on the road. I call it how I see it. It's obviously jealousy. They are pissed because they probably just recently bought their stang (within the last year or so) and either are mad that they didn't wait it out or even know about the car to wait it out. Or, maybe they don't even want the '05, but are jealous of the attention it is taking off of their car. Jeff, you yourself may not be jealous. But you have a Mach 1. That's a little bit different. But I'd still take my '05 GT over an '04 Mach 1 anyday. With an '05 GT being the same price and the same speed (if not faster) than an '04 Mach, yet on a completely rebuilt chassis with a completely new design, I don't know many people who wouldn't.
To sum up my opinion, it has nothing to do with us being snobs. You see us as snobs because we have something newer and, in many people's opinion, better than you and other SN95's out there. If you think that we are snobs, prove that. You said yourself that you have yet to even see an '05 in person, so how do you know that, not only an '05 owner that you would see, but all of '05 owners in general are so called snobs? Because of something you read on a forum? Maybe an '05 owner who was talking good about his car... maybe saying he's glad he waited it out and didn't get that '04 Mach 1 he was looking at? Prove that one '05 owner is a snob, much less all of us.

Sighs and shakes head. Ian, Ian, Ian, you just proved my point. I never impled that all 05 owners are snobs. Go back and read both of my posts. As for u. Hate to be the one to tell u, but u are one. Your comments about how u think ur better than me and everyone else who doesnt drive an 05 is pathetic and just plain sad. Btw, a stock 05 is NOT faster than a Mach1. This is fact and it is undisputable.
And whats all this talk about jealously? Just because u dont get the recognition that u think u deserve from another Stang owner doesnt mean their jealous. Did u ever stop and think that maybe their are people on this planet that dont like the new style? Thats right. Just as theres people who loathe the new GTO there are also people who hate the 05. Nothing to do with being jealous. Just personal taste. Remember this next time u get a negative look.
Lastly, I may not have had a "run in" personally with an 05 owner in the real world. I have read many bias posts on this board and that is what I based my sentiments on.
Oh, my comment about the 05 not being the greatest Mustang was a joke. Playful banter if u will. Hince the smilely.

Jeff, I don't think I ever saw anything in a post by acadian that said he was better than you or anyone else that doesn't drive an 05. Plus, I agree with him saying that why come here and post things about us being snobs. How do you think we are going to take that? If you feel that way, say it on the Mach 1 boards. I think you might get miffed if I went to the forums where you and other Mach 1 owners post how much you love your car and say I thought it was crap. We are banding together as a comon group who have the same MY car and somehow we are snobs??? We have the right to be proud of our cars just the way you do.
I bought this car for me, not other people - However since I've had it, all of the other Mustang owners who did see it up close, complimented it. One of these folks has a beautiful 2003 Cobra convertible. Personally, I now look closer at earlier Mustangs and like them more as I notice the similarities. Although it is common and human nature (to some extent) there is no sense in jealousy - or in being a snob.
It is what it is - not the fastest car, or the best on all terrain, and as much as I love the thing, it's just a car.
It doesn't make me any better than anyone or any worse.
It is an extension of my personality and if you do like it great, if not - no big deal.
People are entitled to their opinion.
...Even if they have no taste.

I have to admit I notice other mustangs alot more now I own the 05gt. I also appreciate the late 90s and 2000 models alot more.
I especially notice the ones that have been kept up and look good. I have a friend who owns a black 2001 cobra and he loves my 05. We both feel the performance is equal between the two.
Now I always gives the thumbs up to any mustang owner who has cared for their stang no matter what year.

Jeff, I gotta laugh at you, bro. When reading back your post, that rap song came to mind and I was thinking... say my name, say my name. Thanks for the laugh.
Back on topic. As far as proving your point... sorry to say, but not a point was proven. And yes, you did imply all '05 Mustang owners are snobs. You said, and I quote, " Just more proof that the Mustang world considers 05 owners snobs". If that's not implying it, what is? And you are calling me a snob? How do you think that? I love my car... nothing wrong with that. But guess what? I could care less what you think. If it makes you feel like a better person, call me a snob. By all means. But I am not the one who went out of his way to come to the '05 Mustang rooms and try and start something in a place where you have no place being. You don't have an '05... you aren't planning to get an '05... so go to the '04 rooms and talk about us there. Just don't do it here. Here's the link... Jeff's Forum with your name on it. Add it to your favorites so you don't make a wrong turn and come in here again.

I am the same way. I always look at Mustangs on the road, especially now that I have one again. Giving a head knod or wave whenever possible. But I have had a number of times where an SN95 owner will look at my car and almost look away in disgust. You can't tell me it's because they don't like the style. I personally don't like the way the '71-'73 Mustangs looked, but they are still Mustangs, and rare ones at that. So, if I saw one, you better believe I would give the driver some respect. It's all about respect. Even if you drive an '04 Mach 1 and hate the design of the '05, you still give the driver a wave or whatever it may be, just because it's a Mustang.
