I have yet to receive a negative comment. Let's face it, you can't please everybody all the time. The vast majority has loved this design since the concept way back. There will always be people who complain or dislike something. We're all different.

I was talking to my wife's nieces the other day (16 and 19). Both drive Aleros. I told them I was ordering a Cobra Mustang as soon as I could. They both said the new Mustangs are hideous. They are kind of Ricer/Rap mentality. I thought about tellilng them they weren't allowed to step foot in my yard anymore.
Driving an alero is punishment enough don't ya think?

And on a different note... and this doesn't have much to do with this topic other then relating to how this car makes others react. But I didn't want to start a new thread on it. This morning on the way to work, a Honda Civic was backing up into a driveway and I was coming towards them in the opposite lane. I watched the guy stare at my car in awe as he backed up and missed the driveway by about 3 feet and went right into the ditch. I was just shocked at first but had to laugh. So, does that count as a bad reaction to this car?

BEST REACTION EVER!!!!!

no bad comments here. there are a lot of 04 and earlier Mustang owners that pretend not to look when they see me coming but you can tell there is jeolousy there. I would have been a jeolous '01 owner if I had not bought an '05. I haven't had anyone flip me the bird though.

with all the SUV's and Hybrid honda's on the road the stang sure stands out! and I guess you could call somethin that stands out "strange" as opposed to "normal"

I would rather be strange in a mustang than normal in a honda!

Can you say, "triple-post"? There is an edit button to add things to a post, ya know?

The only bad reactions I've ahd were passive insults from jealous ricers driving early/mid nineties Hondas/Nissans. I'msure I'll eventually run into someone with a thorough knowledge of cars that hates it, but hey, there's always going to be SOMEONE out there who doesn't like a particular product.

I think that many late model Mustang owners seem to resent the 05 but have not heard any bad comments.

I bought the car because of my 30 year love of the Mustang and the retro styling (the "scalded dog" acceleration is nice too!). What surprises me is how many kids love this car. And they love it for completely different reasons. How great is that?

Most my friends think the new Mustang is a horrible car. Yet when we drive down the street they'll point out a 96 Honda Civic painted 8-shades of primer with a wing big enough to serve as a rudder if it was airborne and groud effects kit that drags on the pavement and a pair of fart-cans in the back (yes I said a pair of fart cans, only one works the other was there for looks!). So that lets you know what type of car people my friends are.

I just tell them... Okay, so on the average from the cars you like I have roughly 60 to 100 more horsies then you and a piece of American hertige reborn.

No bad comments, but I'm starting to wonder about the late model stang owners myself. Every model car owner has acknowledged me with a thumbs up or good comments. 1 Bullet(2001) & 1 Silver '05 stang have honked & talked with me. But no other stang drivers will acknowledge me, even ignore my waves to them. Not looking for it, but I just thought they'd care more than the other car folks. What's up with that?

They are jealous. I haven't gotten bad reactions, but I don't think I've ever had a previous model Mustang give me a good reaction.

I have to imagine that many of the 03/04 folks feel burned because they bought their cars before they know about the 05.

Always approached about "positive" things about the car. The retro look, the sleak styling, and how " Ford finally got it right this time around".............I have heard that at least 3 ddifferent times.

Thats ok, there are enough cars out there for everyone, so they can pick something else....leave the real american muscle car to those who can appreciate it and everything it stands for and IS!!!

Hundreds of good comments...even had one guy in a VERY nice 69' Z28 give me a big smile and thumbs up as he went by...

Only bad comment was at the local BBQ joint by a grease covered, coverall wearing guy....he said them things is d**n ugly....I later watched him get in his 78' Ford Fairmont that had 4 different brands of tires, big blobs of unsanded bondo, and rattled and smoked like Boy George eating a corndog. It really gave me pause to value his opinioin...

Jay..

Had a brand spanking new 04 V6 come up behind me, get on my tail, then blast around me. Gave me this look down his nose like I was driving a Yugo. Please, just because I have open road doesnt mean I am going to let all 300 ponies out to play! This girl cant afford tickets, and that road is covered with cops. I was doing a respectable 75..

I too notice the late model Stangs giving me very ugly looks, the classics will pull up next to me and we will cruise side by side for a bit. Grinning, LOL I LOVE that.

No outright negative comments though. Even my friends who are not Ford fans have to admit its a great looking car.
