I used to smile through clenched teeth at other 05 owners before I got mine... I would be all nice on the outside, but on the inside be thinking something evil... and yes, I was in a 99 GT. :P

Wow, I didn't get bigotry from that comment at all. You are really stretching it. When someone makes a comment, about a car, politics, science, or really, anything, it does lend credibility if it is coming from someone who is involved in some way in that field or at least knows something about it. IF Dale Earnhart Jr. made the comment, perhaps I'd be a bit upset, even though I'm not a NASCAR fan, but if some cashier at a gas station says it, no, I'm not going to be as upset. Guess I'm a bigot in your world.

I think it is the topic. There are topics, there are subtopics. This is an issue based on a bad comment from some gas station attendent that may or may not be dumb.

Never a negative comment - no negative looks either really. I get waves or head nods from other '05 owners - I sometimes initiate the wave myself. A lot of "nice car" or something along those lines.

Anyone ever flashed? That's happened a few times too... happens in my 96 as well - maybe it's me

I had a guy ask if that was the new Mustang, and when I said yes he shook his head and said, "That car is BADa**!"

That's about as close as it comes...
I've had that same comment twice.

I did have a girl who was working at a restaurant make a bad comment about the car before she had even seen it but she was clearly a Corvette lover and I just ignored her. Why do they try to compare the Mustang to the Corvette, they're not even in the same class.

Once my step daughter told me that my 1966 Fastback didn't look like a Mustang. I was like WTF? How does the original not look like a Mustang?.....I guess growing up around late models(she was born in 1991) its hard for her to imagine a Mustang from its 60's roots.
I still thought that was a :notnice: comment.

Thanks everyone for ya'lls imput..i too have recieved MANY awesome compliments from people(even had a corvette driver try to race me in my V6! I DON'T THINK SO!! i know when i am beat! It would have been a simple waste of his(and my) gas), HE still gave me .In the case of the gas lady and postoffice lady, it just striked me as strange for some people to not have the same great reaction as so many others...it didnt really bother me...just preturbed(<--spelling?) me...but i must be honest i didn't like hearing a negative comment about something i find practically perfect! But i know ya'll are right...everyone has their own different opinions!

This is what is great about America….free speech. No matter what our socio-economic backgrounds are, we can still freely voice our opinions without fear of retribution (with the exception of irate Mustang owners)

I just had to ask this question because up until a week ago i had recived nothing but great comments from people! Then all of a sudden I am getting gas and tell the cashier i am the red mustang(so i can pay for my gas) and she says "is that one of them new Mustangs" and i answer her saying "yes ma'am" and all she has to say is "They look so Strange!" i couldn't beleive her! i asked her what she said agian( just incase i misunderstood her) and she answered that time saying how weird they looked! Then yesterday i brought my grandma to the post office and as i sat there waiting for her to return a girl next to me looked over and ROLLED HER EYES! Maybe i am just taking the critizm to hard but i can't imagine anyone not liking this car...maybe they were just jealous, but someone needs to make them watch Bambi so they can learn if you can't say anything nice not say anything at all!

Anyone else had any bad comments from people?

P.S. I did a search on bad comments and recieved none concerning this but i accidentally placed this topic in the which is better catagory( Because that was where the results from my search came from) So if someone could lock that topic it would be greatly appriciated! Thanks
thats funny!!!!!!! i had 2 older gts next to me and neither would look at me. whats up with that?? were all in the family???

Why do you even care what some 40-year-old woman thinks about you car? Why would you care what anyone thinks about your car? You didn't bought 05 Mustang because other people like it, you bought it because you like it ... right?

It's funny that in the local group of Mustangers, I was told by the masses not to become a snob like the rest of the 05 owners now that I've got one but in reality, it's the SN95 owners that seem to be snobs... they NEVER look over or wave back when I'm out and about in mine. I got a huge wave back from the driver of a sweet 70 Boss 302 last weekend but get no reaction from the dude in his New Edge GT... we're all family aren't we?

There was a girl that used to work with me who drove a yellow 2001 V6. She said mine "doesn't look like a Mustang"... So I guess the classics are a mystery to some people. I've also had 99-04 drivers ignore/drive aggressively around me.

I was talking to my wife's nieces the other day (16 and 19). Both drive Aleros. I told them I was ordering a Cobra Mustang as soon as I could. They both said the new Mustangs are hideous. They are kind of Ricer/Rap mentality. I thought about tellilng them they weren't allowed to step foot in my yard anymore.
That's pretty funny cause my best friend is of the "rap" mentality and hates "rice"... And he drives an Alero.

Being a (former) late model Stang owner myself, I'd like to say it has nothing to do with jealousy. This one kid pulled up next to me and he had this whole "I'm better than you because my Stang is newer". I could tell just by the smirk on his face. I haven't had a chance to see another one stopped next to me yet. I do see them all the time. I think there are about 7 on my base!

Im sick of people thinking all teenagers love imports! well i dont long live the ford mustang
