I thought I read somewhere Ford was offering a $1000 military discount for 2005 Mustangs.
I am nearing placing an order, and the dealer is offering $500 over invoice. He didn't know of any factory authorized discounts/incentives.
Anyone know for sure?

I don't think anything official on rebates/dicounts has been released yet, but my dealership in Mohave, CA (near Edwards AFB) said that they will pass along any discounts (including military) that are offered on the 2005 Mustangs.

I haven't heard of any military discounts unless you go through Military sales overseas.

I didnt realize you could run one on the 05 mustangs, it shows the rebate for recent college graduates available- $400, But I wouldnt give up on a millitary one either once they are in transit. You can not combine college and MAP rebates, and college is not valid on x-plan purchases.

May just mean a discount, like saying its senior citizens discount or something.....According to the rebate info, Ford says they are not paying for it.

Thanks, guys. Would be nice to get $1000 off. There are probably thousands of service members (stateside) who would be incentivized by a MAP discount, especially believing Ford sponsored rebates/low interest finacing rates/incentives are not likely for quite a while. Guess I'll pulse the dealers here in Dayton OH as I narrow the field and place an order.

According to http://www.fordcollegegrad.com/

You’re in the driver’s seat if, between May 1, 2002 and January 3, 2005, you:
• graduated, or will graduate, from an accredited college or graduate school with at least a bachelor degree, OR
• graduated, or will graduate, from an accredited junior college, community college, nursing
school or trade school, OR
• are currently enrolled in an accredited graduate school.

Also, you must purchase or lease, and take retail delivery from Dealer stock, any eligible new Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicle between July 7, 2004 and January 3, 2005 to qualify for the $400 Cash Bonus.

Act quick, according to my Military Sales Rep, the $1000 military REBATE ends for orders before Sept. 30th.
