Now if they offered a DSG-style tranny like VW/Audi/Bugatti, then I'd have the best (better?) of all worlds.

I think the double-clutch design is easily the most significant tranny technology of the past 50 years, giving all the in-town ease and convenience of a slushbox when in full auto mode combined with the control and efficiency of a manual in sport mode and shifting speed Schumacher (sp-?) could only dream of.

Perhaps by the next complete redesign in '12 or so?

Oh yeah, I forgot about the 400! I actually rode one of the Hondamatic 750's, I used to buy 750's, fix them up and sell them back in the 80's (mostly for fun). It was really strange, it was just like an auto tranny in a car. Really seemed weird on a bike! I think it was only 3 speeds though. They had that strange clutchless tranny on the old CT70 too (and maybe the QA50?), remember those?
