Nope, not at all. Haven't regretted getting a 5-speed, and everytime I downshift, and hear the exhaust get louder, a smile comes on my face. I love my 5-speed.

I test drove an automatic before I bought my manual, and as mentioned in many posts before, it is a VERY nice automatic. If I didnt enjoy highway runs so much, I'd probably have paid the money for one.

But I have no regrets in choosing the manual. There is nothing like being able to dump out of 3rd gear into neutral while gliding to a stop, and tapping the throttle in an overpass just to hear the growl of the 4.6. And those late night highway runs, dropping from 5th to 3rd just to give the engine a roar is such an adrenaline rush... I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I have a manual and would never want an automatic in a sports/muscle car. Nothing wrong with those having automatics but not something I personally would want in my Mustang. As far as racing and which is better just look at NASCAR and they ain’t using any automatics…

I save a lot on my brakes by downshifting to slow the car. Glad both are providing enjoyment for everyone!!! but no for me

I've always had at least 1 manual in the inventory and even in Northern VA traffic, wouldn't dream of having an auto over a 5-spd ...

You'll just have to replace the transmission.

Off Topic But Since..

Not to hijack this post but since I posted the GT next to the Z06 pic. I don't think that picture does the GT justice. I had Shelby stripes painted on the car soon after bringing it home. They are the same dimension as the 67 Shelby following a narrow/wide/narrow front to back.

Totally changes the look of the car. I think I need to update the Z06/GT pic because I think the GT will look way better next to the Vette than in the previous pic.

Looks good Glenns! As for the Auto vs Stick thing who cares? Pick the car that suits your needs the best and be happy . Theres plenty of reasons people pick Auto over a stick. I've had 2 Autos and I've had 2 Sticks theres times I wish I had the stick while driving my auto... and theres times I wish I had the auto while stuck in traffic. Just my $0.02.

I agree that you should get the tranny you want and who cares what neone else says, but i personally got a manual.. Heck i had to have my care shipped from south florida to orlando just because NO ONE in the orlando area had a Redfire 6 w/ the pony package in a manual. Even driving on I-4 (also known as hell) I don't mind constantly shifting... cause i FREAKING love this car!!!!

I've heard more than a few people complaining of how rough and noisy the manual is

My dog is better than yours. This thread is hilarious.

By the time it is all said and done the Mustang will be a POS.

To each your own I have owned both and enjoy either one. My last one was auto and had no problems, it was very quick also. So it shouldn't matter as long as you like what you have who cares. This is all very silly we should be disscussing a real topic like V-6 or V-8 should V-6s be considered Mustangs.

Just kidding

It is amazing what a simple question will bring.
