I've been watching this site for a while and finally decided to join. after perusing the net for awhile I've come to the decision that this is the best i've come accross.
I am a former Mach 1 owner one being a 70 428SCJ w/toploader 4 speed with Drag Pack option and a 351C 4speed. While I regret selling these, I never lost interest in them. In the time since selling them I got married, had 2 children and entered middle age. I have never interested in any model years since that time. Until now.
Now, with the introduction of the '05 'stangs I have become determined more than ever to get my hands on the new 07 Shelby. While color is to be determined I am leaning towards white with blue or Valencia Orange with Black like the GT/R.
I am looking foward to talking to all of you in the future.
Go Blue oval!

one comment: What is your opinion on the Shelby Logo on rear deck lid ( I'm not crazy about it, call me a tradionalist )and why can't FORD make the interior panels currently red, match the color of the stripes so it will go with any exterior color combo.

Hey welcom to the site. It by far is one of the best forums for Mustangs out there. The fact that Brad, the site owner, gets to sit with the FORD bigwigs at dinner proves that.

superstallion,

Welcome.....everyone has been a "newbie" at one time.

Sounds like you might have been around in the times of the "real" Mustangs. If so, it will feel good to have another "memory laner" on board. If you're not from that era, then ...... I apologize for the implication. (That's the problem with the internet....can't tell).

Like you, I lurked....but over at SVTperformance......before I dove in. Then I found this site......best one by far, as you probably know.

I've been learning a lot from these "young guns"......every day I learn something.

Thanks mrGT,
I am from that era, and like you hope to learn from the others expertise.

I especially enjoy learning about the new 05+ mustangs and what is coming down the pipeline.

Brad is like the Rona Barrett of the mustang world (Sorry for the poor association, for lack of a better one). I love his pics!! :worship:

I always wait in anticipation for new ones.

First of all, welcome to the site. Great guys and great info!!

If you are referring to the Shelby nameplate on the left side, I agree, it doesn't look the best. If you are referring to the rear mid logo (see attached) it couldn't be better. They even improved it from the concept by raising the snake and lettering.

No, you are correct. I am refferring to the Shelby lettering on left corner.
It reminds me of the lettering that was done on the Chrysler Shelby horizons and "Chargers" of the early 80's

I liked the way the concept had it like the originals.

Great shot of "gas cap". Is this the production version? It's a lot better than silk screen

Correct, this should be the production version. Brad took the shot at the 2006 Detroit show. I like it!

I do too.
Wouldn't it be awesome if the taillights were seqential like the 67-70.

what size exhaust pipes are on this thing?? 2 1/2"?
how does the x-pipe work compared to an h-pipe???

one more comment antone know if ford will let you get this with the X-plan???

Is the exhaust note going to be the same as the 05 GT or will it have a more muscular sound.???

Wow! Ok, from the top.

They are not sequential but web electrics and a few other companies offer a wiring kit to make them that way. (Can be found in the appearance section of the site)

2 1/2 is what I have read so far...

X-pipe flows more freely, less restrictive..and louder again from what I have read.

X-plan, doubtful any dealer will accept it with the guarantee they can sell them for at least MSRP. Maybe into the second year they might take it, but again I am doubtful.

Deeper and more muscular from what I have read.

I hope you are right about the exhaust. I actually heard that it would be quieter than the GT. I sure hope I'm wrong.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome

I was just wondering about the x-plan though.. you can dream you know....

I am going to wait till the mad rush calms down and they work out any bugs, if any.

Right now there are more people with dollars than (sense).

Typical supply v. demand economics.

In the board mapping shown in the top panel above, clik on "2005+Mustangs", and then in the Forum Listings, you'll see the "Appearance" forum. Clik on it and you're there. You'll have to search or surf that forum. There is a thread or two on the sequential taillights.

Hope that helps

Yep, just like mrGT said. The main 2005+ link has access to appearance (inside and out), performance, etc.

Here is the main part:
