Thumbs down

Newbie to the forum here. Just sold my 03 SVT Cobra to get an 06 GT. I have one spec out at the dealer and a signed agreement on price. Problem is the order can't actually be placed until June 1st and I won't get the car until Sept!!! :bang:

Here's the details because I know your going to ask.

06 Mustang GT
Tungsten Silver
IUP
Anti Theft
Medium Parchment leather int
Shaker 500
Spoiler delete
18 inch wheel and tires - Still waiting on price for this.

I have a few questions on mods. Which is better, the C&L intake or the JLT. Also I plan on getting long tube headers, x pipe w/cats, and a cat back exhaust. Also has any one done suspension mods??? Any input or advice will be appreciated.

Thanks!!!
Jim

I can't picture a silver or grey car with the parchment interior. That will be interesting to see. But congrats on the order. Should be a sweet car!

You'll have one beautiful car! You will prolly do better asking about perf mods in the GT Tech & Perf. area. Good luck with your order and pls post
when it arrives.

Why can't the order be placed until June 1? The order banks for the '06 open on Monday May 16. Ford will be accepting orders at time.

Thanks guys, I'll be sure to post some pics when I get the car. Won't be for about 4 months. I'll have to check with my dealer on the order date. I was told they couldn't place the order until June 1st.

Yes, Tungsten Silver has always been one of my favorites. I am really considering it.
I have been waiting and waiting to hear something about an SE, and the Shelby looks to be too much $$$. So I may just get another GT and add a supercharger.
Did any of you see that Vortech Mustang GT article? 410hp!

Yes but I wonder how the 3V motor is going to stand up to boost. I'm sticking with the all motor route for now.

I already have an order in the system for our 1st stock '06.
Tungsten GT
Red interior
18" wheels
antitheft
5-speed

No pricing yet but doesn;t matter, the price will be set by Ford (my guess is 2% increase). It's available for anyone who wants to buy it. First $1200 over whatever the invoice price is will own it.

Thanks!!! Haven't seen it yet but from what I hear that won't be a problem. I wanted Mineral Grey but the discontinued the color for 06. Now my only problem is waiting the 4 months for the car to get here!!! :bang:

The Cobra's are insane machines. :worship: It's just the new platform is so much better. Once the warranty is up on mine I plan on going with a set of ported/polished heads and cams. With the other mods I have planned I'm hoping for about 400hp at the crank, all motor.....no blower or nitro!!!

While the 06 GT isn't as fast as the Cobra's, it's ten times a better car. I loved my Cobra but never really drove it that much because of the crappy gas milage and the problems I was having with it. With only 855 miles on the clock I had it back to the dealer 4 times for the rear suspension clunk which they finally fixed. It's been back 3 times for the drive line clunking which my dealer couldn't reproduce but yet it did it for me every time I drove it. When I finally did get them to hear it they said it was normal??? My paint was chipping on my hood and the rocker panels. There is a tsb out for this but I never got the chance to bring it in to get them repainted. The car recently started pulling to the right so I brought it in for an alignment and was told it's due to a defective passenger side strut which would be replaced under warranty. Bottem line, as insanely fast as the car was, it was a pain in the a....!!! Some thing was always going wrong with it. Now the 04's are supposed to be much better than the 03's so hopefully you won't have the issues I had. I'm hoping I'll have better luck with this car, plus there's always the Shelby GT500 in 07!!!

Hate to burst your bubble but my 05 GT has been back to the dealership 5 times already (bought it in March) for various clunks, pops and TSBs. It's going in soon for the upper strut bearing TSB... if the car wasn't so nice, I'd have given up on it by now!
