I don't understand the 9,000 cars built figure at all. In a previous thread there was a discussion between 2mustangjohn and Grantsdale as to what the current build rate at AAI. I remember the figure 45 mustans/hr being mentioned.
Since Job 1 start (sep 7) there have been 29 working days (assuming Sat sifts at AAI haven't started yet). Also assuming that production was not at full speed in the month of sep, i am taking an average build rate of 30 mustangs/hr.

So the calculation is 29*20*30 (days*working hours*cars per hour) = 17,400.

So the number mentioned in this thread is almost half of this number. How is this possible???

 

I agree, thats why I said the 9,900 car number isn't right. We are probably around 20,000 cars right now.

We don't know how accurate those numbers are, however.

 

This indicates a 414 unit per day build last week. Keep the link and we'll check at the end of this week.

 

That would cover about 1 10 hr shift ... they should be easily doing double that.

I see 0 next to mustang.

Sorry my bad, I was just looking under the Ford section.

 

My car was ordered the first moment Ford would officially accept the orders. The car was produced early in the production. We were given a delivery date of the week of 10/10, yet it sits in a parking lot at the plant. No dealer in my trade area has any '05 Mustang yet. I called 9 different dealers today. Not whining........well....maybe a little, because it is such an exciting car and I feel like a kid waiting for a new toy. One thing I am hearing from my friends who are dealers; they have not seen this kind of anticipation and excitement over a new car since the original Mustang.
