38,000 orders we're losing ground
#1
A factory worker reported on another site on Saturday they had 38,000 orders. As of Friday Ford reported that 9,901 units were built. This would be the backlog is 28,099 units which is higher than the 25,000 backorder we started with. Seems like the dealers should not have to gouge people because there will be plenty of sale to go around. I would think with these numbers the majority are not gouging.

The 9,900 number is too low. People are seeing GT vins of around 6000 being produced. GTs are 1/3 of production, so thats another 12,000 v6s ... so thats 18,000 cars.

Correct, however VINs are assigned in order. So the production date for 5999 was set, and chances are its not more than a few days off of 6000.
sparky: 2mustangjohn posted a week or so ago that gts were at 30% of production. he works at aai.
upstate: i cant answer that because ive never seen those reports before.

You are right about the vin's but it is a reasonable close number. When they pull orders and assign vins is that radomly done as in we need to pull 2,000 orders so the first Priority 10 (or low number) from the dealers eligable gets pulled and then they look at the specs? Or are the spec looked at as in we need 400 GT's or 350 Torch reds?

They pull whatever available spots they have for the next scheduling week. If they are thinking they can do pull production of 5400 cars, they will pull 5400 ... if they are closed half the week, they may only do 2000.

Grantsdale those were the reports we looked at yesterday with the yearly total produced from AAI. Do you remember? You couldn't find AAI at first you were looking at Mustangs produced which were the 04 design???

Scheduled yes....built no.
Barring any holds etc, it still isn't quite a clear indication.
How many people have VINS but aren't built because of IUP hold?
or V6 Manual hold? etc.
They are scheduled but not built.
Are they close, that we don't know.
If you can call 5-10,000 being close..maybe sure.

Boomer: if they are scheduled thats the same as being produced, because they are still taking the production spot up.

Dan, don't worry...we dance to the Ford Canada drum...which is a different beat than our US brethren.
Winter will be a slow time and perfect ordering time.
I'll laugh if we get ours before yours...cause of a Redfire hold B)
