I'm reopening this thread to ask a question. I see a lot of people saying they ordered the 3.55 limited slip option. Is the standard 3.31 on the GT limited slip? I would hope so.

On a side note, if Ford is going to go through the trouble of offering a gear upgrade from the factory, why not make it a bigger change than 3.31 to 3.55? That's similar to going from 3.55's to 3.73's in the old days- hardly noticeable. Even 3.73's would be a more significant change.

'07 Order guide states 3.31 limited slip is standard on GT's so, yes, limited slip is standard.

Yes, all GTs come standard with t-lock.

There's no telling, this change for '07 is something of a mystery. Other questions worth asking are why can you not get the 3.55's with an auto tranny, and why don't they offer more than one ratio if it's going to be an option anyway?

Most likely meeting CAFE mileage standards would be a challenge...

Well, its not really a upgrade or real option. Its more like Ford took something away and are making us pay to get it back. Well not me I went with the 3.31, soon to be 4.10

Absolutely correct! Heck, even my wife thinks the 3.55's are too "tame".
