3.55 Gears Now Optional on 2007 Mustang GTs
In 2005 and 2006, all Mustang GTs equipped with manual transmissions came with 3.55:1 gears. Now you must specify this option, or your manual transmission 2007 Mustang GT will come with 3.31:1 gears. The order code is 455.

There was a bit of a debate about this on another mustang forum. The general consensus was that this applied to V6's, which currently have the 3.31. You could upgrade them to the 3.55.
Do you have confirmation this is for the GT's too?

All Canadian 2007 GTs come with 3.55s.

Needs to be more Astony
For all the people that thought i was dumb asking if it increased gas mileage...i know how gearing works... I know it didn't come out right in the question.
But my real question was if it was rated better mileage from ford. like the 05-06 is 17city-25hwy.
I was wondering if ford did that to increase there fleet average or somthing.

I don't know if that's why they did it, but I can tell you this... 17 city is pretty darned high I would say.
Of course I live in Los Angeles which has probably the worst traffic in the country so maybe that's why.
But at the end of the day... I didn't buy the car for the mileage, and I knew that going in. BUT it would be nice to have the best of both worlds

When I placed my order, the sales guy actually said "I'm sure you want option 455 also, right?" The only code I didn't have to tell him. Of course I said yes to that one. Now if only I could make them understand what the FRPP handeling Package is.

Wow. A salesman who actually knows something. 
As for the FRPP handling pack. it can't be ordered with the car. Explain to him it's an accessory as opposed to an option. Options come on the car from the factory. Accessories have to be ordered through the parts department and put on by the dealer or the customer.
If all that was already obvious... oops. Nevermind.
