The 2006 owners manual still shows the old key fob, so if ford does offer them up, it will most definitely be an accessory.
The biggest question in my eyes is whether or not the bigger key will fit in the ignition. My focus has a black plastic shroud that surrounds the key, and a larger key will not fit in that opening.

I don't know if this is such a hot deal excepting the functionality of course. I barely have enough room for my knee next to the stock issue key as it is now  .

The sad thing is the Toyota Pries (sp? The hybrid thing) has that exact same king of transponder+start but tech. And we get stuck with a seperate key fob.
Heck, I had a Renaue (sp again... Sigh.) R19 way back in 1991 that had an integrated remote/key.

The only complaint I have with my 05 is the placement of the ignition. I've never seen it that low before. My knee CONSTANTLY bumps the fob. .... I could then loose the fob and have some extra room for my knee.

Still no word? WOW!
Here's to hoping it works, and it's not too expensive. I get the sensation that price will keep many folks away.
