I saw a new key design on the Ford Fusion website. I was wondering if those will be compatible with my 2005 Mustang. Also, are they available to order?

I don't know, but I sure do like how it looks. I just think it's really cool how you get all the functions of a key fob without actually having to deal with one.

Pretty cool looking key. I have no idea if it'll work with a Mustang but I would bet that's not a cheap item.

Looking at the picture of it scaled to approx actual size, and comparing it to my Mustang key, it looks like it should work. All Fords built after 98 or so have the Theft lock transponder system, so with the key sizing and transponder inside of it, we're looking at a compatable key.

Well, you're making some assumptions that the anti-theft transponder is compatible but you might be correct. How about the remote? Is there any way to tell if it's the same remote module that's used in the Mustang?

Jeep's been doing that for a while. My wife's Renegade's key's like that. Makes a ton of sense.

Our Scion tC has this same type of key and i love it. Our Explorer's key fob seems huge after using just the one key with the buttons integrated into it.

Maybe we can get those to work for the global open/close!

And I bet they will be very, very expensive! But I agree, this seems to be the trend now, building the fob and the key together!

Not ture! My buddy just bought a 2005 Ranger! He was pi$$ed it didn't have the transponder key system, but his 2001 he traded in did!
