Now that I posted that MS Paint "photochop" I can't stop imagining how good mags look on the 'retro' bodystyle... I'm guessing Wheel Vintiques is where to go... So thanks for the tip, I was having a hard time finding anything bigger than 17s
Edit: 255's (10") will fit on an 8" rim?
And are those prices per wheel? Cause darn... That's another 2k for wheels if they are, plus another 100 for the 'mustang' cap... Not so sure I'm ready to drop that much money on 'custom' wheels when there's similar wheels on the market already. *shrug*

Hello all! First time reader & poster Enfynet has been sending me links and the conversations seem interesting so I had to throw myself in the mix. I am the lucky one who gets to put in the aftermarket stereo in Enfynet's 05 and since it was brough up I had to add my $0.02
Definatly doing Infinity in the cabin. JVC headunit is the first choice but I am not a fan of their latest design (I have turned my attention to Pioneer) so we'll see how that goes. The subs are going to be fun becuase we are going to go for a custom box if all works out the way I anticipate! Seeing that we arent going to any "how loud can I make my stereo without my car falling apart" competitions I lean towards MTX. I have had much luck with MTX on a personal level so to me it is a name I can trust and I have always received good sound from my trunk.
I'd really like to get some JL's for the Stang but they can be costly. Can't say I am a Fosgate fan and I dont think I have heard of Image Dynamics. But then again I am really out of the loop when it comes to custom stereo products here in Cleveland. Anyway, it should be fun regardless and I'm looking forward to seeing if i can pull of the custom box that I picture in my head. I am still trying to brain storm for some more ideas...anyone else have $0.02 to share?

If I were going to get the GT I would get the retro looking Bullitt rims over the upgrade rims. If you want really retro looking rims I like the V6 rims with the chrome spinners. They look a little like Eleanor's rims(Gone in sixty seconds). I just wish they were 17" but beggers can't be choosers I know a few GT owners really like the V6 wheels.

I also would like the V6's Wheels. They are a Knock Off of the Hallibrand Wheels Shelby, and Many Other Classic Muscle cars had in the 60's.
The main problem I see with GT owners getting V6 Wheels, is they are only 16" wheels, The GT has Larger Brake rotors etc. and tollerences on Modern Cars are really tight when it comes to packaging Brakes inside the wheels. I don't think they'll fit withoout the calipers rubbing the inside of the rim. Look at the picture I took at legends field below and you'll see what I mean.

:bang: Yes I know all about the Calibers etc. I was just saying that the look of the V6 Wheels is what the GT owners I know want and maybe they can get something like it on the aftermarket. Anyway can't wait until I get my 05 Sonic Blue.

Im not a fan of any of the 05's wheels. The Bullit wheels are ok but just to short and to narrow. The v6 Halibrand copies are ok but to small and narrow as well. I am considering 18x9 halibrands all the way around on a DSG 05. But honestly this car needs 19in wheels to lok really hot. And nothing ricerish...but with the body lines and the huge wheel wells i think they need it. heck maybe even a set of 20in Bullits with a nice machined lip on them.

The wheels for the GT do stink! So, much that I am forcing myself to wait till 06 for 18's or wait for an SE.
I do like the V6 rims.
Had the 18's or better looking 17's been on the 05 GT, I would of put my order in by now!!!

did we ever do a concepts vs bullitts poll???

How come very few people call the Torq Thrusts? That's the name of the style.
Considering that about a 1/3 of the people online cannot even spell Bullitt correctly, you'd think we'd be using the proper name of the style, instead of naming the wheel after a man or a movie...
Just glad a green Mustang with Torq Thrusts wasn't used in Deep Throat.

I thought the name "Torque Thrusts" was a specific style of wheel produced by American Racing. And, those rims will be called "Bullitts" by Ford. They are not AM Torque Thrusts.
Like calling tissue, Kleenex.
I believe "Bullitt-style" or "Bullitt" is still the most correct term.

Ford calls them 17" Premium Painted Cast Aluminum (64F).
Torq Thrust is a classic name. Just like we'd call Halibrand style mags "Halibrands", even if they were knockoffs (OK, we'd call them Knockoff Halibrands)
But I understand.

Hmm... I always thought it was because the 'spokes' looked like Bullitts...

Hey, question for you. Since you are only 13, it's pretty obvious that those aren't your cars in your sig. What gives? It's a pretty long sig...

I got you Bill. I call it Kleenex too, and Skill-Saw, and SOS Pad, and Weed Wacker, etc. etc.
