that is.$%&#ing sweet!!!!!!! the Hood Scoop reminds me of that from a BOSS 429
That isn't a scoop, it is a piece on top of the hood to allow for a taller motor to fit. I am sure this is nothing like what the actual cobra will look like. This is just a test mule used to test out the powertrain, drivetrain, suspension, etc.

lol... thats's not the real hood - it's just a test mule with a GT body dropped on (with obviously some tacked on extra room for the engine/supercharger)

That's hilarious that people think that's the production hood with the pop-riveted and folded sheetmetal cover.

Those look just like Amy's black "spy shot." That blue one in the Phil Martens pic looked like it had a metallic version of that "hood scoop."

The info is starting to surface. It has been a long 2 years that I have been waiting on this car. I can't wait to see the real thing. Hopefully just prior to NYIAS. I have already had my name put on the unofficial list at my dealer.

Remember all those shots of the Mustang mules with the big red kill switch on the dash?? I remember people speculating what that was for and comments like "I can't believe Ford designed a hazzard switch that hideous...."

Let's give the guys in Dearborn a little credit. I'm sure we will all have our jaws hanging when they show the Cobra in NY in March.

How much you want to bet that the new Cobra will run the slalom faster and with a higher MPH than the outgoing Cobra?

I don't know why anyone thinks that hood is in any way indicative of what the Mustang Cobra will bring to the table production wise. There is not a Cobra porduction body panel on that car, and the hood bulge is riveted in place. This is a mule and is supposed to give you no indication of how the production version will look.

But, so many of these hp numbers are obviously low it is ridiculous. The 450hp claim is the first believable claim I have heard thus far as every other claim is essentially no more powerful than the 03 Cobra was.

I agree, I would bet that even with a live-axle the new Cobra out-handles even Track Model 350Z's and handles with standard C6 Vettes. Amazingly, even if the live-axle does this people will still complain simply because it is not an IRS.

This is one of the things I like about the Mustang Cobra, it is about going fast and performing well....not false image.

Oh well, too late for me. I ordered my Lime GT today and got a GREAT price (x-plan). Add the cash from the sale of my current ride and I'm just a little over $20K out of pocket. I will have to think about the new Cobra in approx 5 years. If the article is true about the $$$ for a '07 Cobra at $40k, that is too rich for my blood at this exact time in my life. But I am still very excited about my new GT. I'm sure everyone who waits will be very satisfied.
