Remember the dual exhaust does not come on the car as part of this package, the brochure is showing you that it is an accessory from Ford Racing. The V6 Appearance Package car comes with the standard one muffler unless you order the v6 power pack from ford racing.

And it still has the regular v6 front end, just with a billet grille, and the same v6 rear fascia, just with a black decal.

And don't be worried about paying extra for a GT, people know good and well when they hear a V8 vs a V6.

I can agree too as my current car, a 2000 GTP, suffers from the same problem, when the GPs first came out there were distinct differences between models by 2001 even the cheap ones came with spoilers and the same fascia. Guess I'm glad I'm trading it in for a GT/CS, at least it's a little different.

Here is a link to some photos of the package in Vapor Silver at the SEMA show. Looks very sharp IMO...I sure would have concidered this if it would have been out last summer.

This is a pretty cool option. We just got our first one here at the dealership yesterday. It's a mighty fine looking V6.

The grill on this package is fantastic. It is designed, engineered and built specifically for the horizontal bars.
  • The chrome grill is chrome plated plastic cast into a single piece that fits into the main grill surround.
  • The main grill surround is cast specifically with flat sections for the chrome grill to snap into place. All of the honeycomb pattern is gone. I'd say this piece would be easy to modify to what ever you would want as a grill material! -- (Wish Shelby would have spent the time to do this type of grill for the GT-H and Shelby GT instead of hacking up a stock grill.)
  • The Pony emblem (same as used on the fenders) is bolted to the front of the grill with it's own special mounting plate.
The rear black out panel is just a flat black vinyl piece. One cool thing is that the trunk emblem is placed over the vinyl so there isn't any gaps around the faux cap.

i saw one of these in person yesterday. at first it fooled me and i thought someone had a gt with some cosmetic mods - billet grille, blackout, side scooops, hood scoop.

it wasn't until after a few minutes of checking it out that i noticed the single muffler. pretty cool pkg imo.

Does anyone have a VIN on one of these appearance package cars? I can't find the vinyl blackout piece in the catalog and will need a VIN to give to ford to find it.

So what's with the rear wing? Is it a standard spoiler painted black, or Cervini Style? And it has duals.

I'm feeling a little neglected about now...

Yep, It's a standard GT rear spoiler painted flat black.

Is that a v6 CDC front lip spoiler?

Also, it must have the "Power Upgrade Package - FR1" hence the dual exhaust...

Wow, this is a very cool package! Slap a blower on there and it's got the bite to match the bark!

I love it, a GT owner has V6 envy!! LOL!

I'ts not envy, it's more like insult.

I would make the same choice again, regardless of what was available. The bottom line? Anyone (especially Ford) can slap whatever they want on their car. God knows I have.

I feel that those of us that chose the GT as being a premium Mustang, are being "downgraded" by Ford because of their need to move product. How would the GT500 guys feel if Ford came out with Mustang GT that resembled a GT500? Probably not too happy.

Who knows, this exercise could be a sign of things to come. Base V6 and GT V6. A V8 would be available in an SE, but not a GT.

I don't think we're being limited in ordering these. I now have 8 in the order banks with no holdups in getting them scheduled.

They do not come with the FR1 or dual exhaust from the factory as part of the V6 Appearance Package. Those items are dealer installed items from the FRPP book and are extra cost.

Shelby did do this for the 2008 Shelby GT. I bought the new grille housing from them along with the black billet grille. It does look a lot better than hacking up the grille.

The V6 apperance package is a great idea and another throwback from the old days. My son has a candy apple red 1968 coupe that is a 6 cylinder with the exterior decor group package. It is a GT exterior package but with a 6 cylinder engine. You can not tell in any way it is a six unless you know what to look for. They call it a sprint package now. The idea in its day was to make a Mustang that was cheap to insure and made Mom and Dad more relaxed knowing their kid was not driving a hot rod. Todays 2008 version is just as cool. I have been looking at GT/CS and Shelby GT. Now you see why they made this package. For $10,000 less, you get the looks of a GT at V6 price. That is all part of what Mustangs are about. Maybe I need the new 08' candy V6 apperance pack to go with my sons 68'

Here's some pics of our first V6 Appearance Package Coupe. Vapor Silver with Charcoal Leather. Looks great in person. We have many more on order in all three colors, and I hope Ford will open up the color choices to all of the available colors. For now, though, it's Vapor Silver, Dark Candy Apple Red, and Grabber Orange.
