'07 GT ordered 6/30

Hey guys, I ordered an '07 GT on June 30th. I had originally received a copy of my unsubmitted Vehicle Order Confirmation on that day. On that day my order number was 1010. Today I received a copy of what looks like an Alter-Order Dealer Submitted.. some of the info on that is: Order number 1002, DORA Processed: 8/7/06, Order Receipt Date: 7/28/06, and Priority 10. Not quite sure on the difference of all the dates and what they actually mean..

I'm also slightly confused because my Order number is different? Also, did my dealer delay the submission of the Order since I ordered it on 6/30? I called the 1-800-392-3673 Customer Service line and was told it was "Received and awaiting submission to the plant". I also called the ERL and was told as of 8/11/06 it is "clean, unscheduled, and not serialized". Is all of this normal processing time or should I be concerned? Whats a rough approximation of the time I should expect to be waiting still - approx how many weeks? Thanks for the help.

Jim

Since you submitted your order right before the factory shutdown (first two weeks of July), that probably slowed your order down. Normally it takes around 8 weeks if you get a high priority, but they're probably still playing catch up from the shutdown.

Sounds like the dealer may have sold the previous ordered car to someone else and then placed your current order at the end of July. The fact that the order number changed and DORA date of 8/7/06 lets you know that something has drastically changed. The fact that the ERL says order number 1010 still exists makes you think your original ordered car is still in the system so it must be going to dealer stock or another retail sale.

For order number 1002 as of 8/11 it hasn't been assigned a VIN which means it is just sitting in the queue and is not in line to be built. My car has been waiting for a VIN since July 5th so you may have a bit of a wait depending on the size of your dealer.

I had been calling the ERL using the 1010 number and it never had any info on that order number so perhaps that one was never entered? the dealership i bought from, Ford of Englewood isn't the largest in the Tri-State area thats for sure.. but we shall see.

If all goes well next you will hear the ETA the day of at your dealer. Next they will say it is released from the factory and the ETA the week of at you dealer. From there you can track the train. I'm not getting that carried away.
