06 Vista Blue, Black GT and Tungsten Pony *PICS*

Yeah, but they are still ugly. They look like props for a Tim Burton Batman movie. A guy in work has one of the four different gray color 300s, and when he drives up, I keep waiting for a green faced Jack Nicholson to step out of the car.
My brother in law bought a Hemi Magnum. It hauls the mail, but the only bright colors are off-white and red. And they charge extra for the red.

FYI, I was the one that originally posted those rims. They really were not "test" rims. The company was having a hard time polishing the centers so they painted them instead to see what they would look like.

Ok folks. I just got my 05 Showcar in Tungsten from Brad's store. He had assured me it was the same color as the showcar, and for my eyes it appears to be exactly th same as the color swatch I saw at the dealership. It is nice to see the color on the Mustang Form at least. I am no expert. I do not see any hues of Red or Blue. What I see is what I saw at the dealership.. . . a very rich grey color, much darker than Satin Silver, but with alot of metallic in it which gives it stunning silver-like brilliance. You all know by now that I am not a fan of any color currently on American autos, but this might be one of the first that I really can say I like. Now if we can get them to take the pinkish raspberry out of Redfire we will be on our way. Anyone remember a GM color called Autum Maple of the 84 Caddies. . .now THAT was GORGEOUS! All you Tungsten purchasers. . I think you will be very happy. If the color on the Model is indeed Tungsten, we had NOTHING to fret about.

I hope you're right, but I don't think so; this looks like the same color that Amy took pics of.

I'm pretty new to this forum though, so that pic may actually be tungsten and it may be from a show or something that I don't know about. If so, I apologize, and I'm just throwing in my $0.02. But that grille is definitely fake.
Oh, and if it helps anyone who's worrying at all, a week ago I had a chance to check out a paint swatch of tungsten compared to satin and mineral and it looks awesome!! Doesn't look anything like Satin in person. (Not that I don't like Satin.. I'm just referring to my post from a while back where I was asking if tungsten looked any different from it, that's all.)

All I can say is that better not be Tungsten. I already ordered the color now I'm having some second thoughts based on these pictures.
If this is what the color truly looks like in November when I pick up my car I and many others are going to be pissed.
It looks nothing like the car show pics, nothing like the color examples, not even like the diecast model offered on this site.
I guess time will tell. I'm going to be optimistic for now.
The attached car pics make me feel a bit better.

Yep I sure as heck hope that pic isn't Tungsten. But that's the thing about a silver color... it will look different depending on the lighting.
Also those pics could have been a little overexposed. Seeing as they look like they were shot midday.
I PRAY that the Tungsten is much darker than that pic... but like you said Paul time will tell.

Ok... drove through AAI again yesterday.. just for the heck of it... saw the Tungsten 06 V6 Package driving on the lil side road there.
It's the same exact one I took a pic of.. and it's on the dark side... wasn't as flashy as what was seen at the NAIAS. I have seen that one in person a few times.. but also under show lights and not natural lighting.

Amy, thats very good news. Thanks again for the pics and comments. If anyone else has Tungsten examples please post.

This may go without saying, but there's a whole slew of photos of the 2004 show car in the "Show Photos" section (in the banner menu). Just select "2004" and click on (I think) Chicago and LA. This has got to be the exact same car at NAIAS - but you can see under different lighting and with different cameras and even the same camera how different the same color can look:

different show, same car (?)

same photographer as above:

Yeah look at the difference between the open door and the front finder

Isn't the 2004 auto show diecast car the same color Tungsten as the production color? That's what Iv'e been told. Anyway, I have taken the model outside in bright sunlight, and the color NEVER looked as light as the colors in some of the pics. The color mostly looks very metallic.

I didn't realize it until now, but if you look at Vista Blue, and then look at a picture of a Cobra or Cobra kitcar in Guardsman Blue, they are VERY close to the same color. I took the swatch out of the book in the showroom, and held it next to a model I have of a 427 Cobra, and the 2 colors are sooo close match. This is a great color. Will look awesome with white Shelby stripes.
