'06 Shaker 500 & CRUTCHFIELD ipod adapters

Wondering if anyone has tried the Peripheral iPod2car adapter I see at CRUTCHFIELD.

Need to get it and the wiring package to go with it for a total of $169.98.

Thanks for the feedback.

I had one and it sucked as bad as the PIE unit. I ended up returning it. Do a search for "Ipod" and you'll see several people that had problems.

I think the PIE unit problems have been resolved with the new firmware. I've been considering one for my Shaker and have poured through serveral posts. Make sure you buy from Crutchfield or other bigger name supplier to get a new one with the updated firmware.

like many have said there are differences of opinion on this; i put my peripheral in last June and it has worked fine since; just make sure you get the updated version. you can call peripheral direct and talk to tech support if you want...the email address is also on the website and they generally respond the same day...i am just one person and have had no problems.

I have the Peripheral. Purchased mine from Best Buy but after 3 months I had problems with it. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a new unit in exchange for the defective one. I had problems with that one after a few weeks so another exchange was done. I'm on my third unit, have had it for 3 months and so far no problems. I like the Peripheral.......when it works. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I also had the peripheral one. Worked for me for 4 days, then stopped working and gave me weird error messages in my dash and made all my gauegs go crazy. Im still waiting for an adapter that works.

Same thing happened with mine. It usually worked for 8 hours and then the next morning my car would have a mind of its own.

well here we go; i have had my updated peripheral unit for 11 months and today my instrument cluster went crazy;;; i had to disconnect the battery for an hour and disconnect the peripheral unit; all is ok now but if yours has not screwed your car up yet iT WILL -- be warned and if it is still under warranty tell them it went crazy and get your money back.

Now i am looking for another option - i am also confused with the new PIE - gotta find out if it works on the 05's or not; if you know please post.
