I live in southern Louisiana, and have hurricanes down here. Speakink of, it's hurricane season right now. Those carports are like sails, and will blow away in the wind, pulling the metal poles out and scraping/bashing the car on their way. Any winds over about 75, you need to take the cover off, so it doesn't turn into a sail. I would definitle advise investing in a carport that will stand the worst possible weather in your area... storms, snow, even acid rain. Plus, adds value onto your home.
