05 Canadian Ordering Guide
#21
GAH! I need a job now too. Everything in this guide is so weird.. so different from the US one... I doubt this, but maybe the Canadian ones will have different motors? Or maybe extra emissions controls that hamper performance? I dunno.
I just know I need to find work and save my cash so I can afford one within 5 years from now.

I just heard what the stock exhaust sounds like and all I can say is impressive. This will be my 4th stang. In the past I put Borla or Mac exhaust systems on them, but this time I may leave it alone.....but not for long.

Things I noticed...
-all get spoilers
(theres no spoiler delete option for the GT....and no sport appearance package for the V6....interesting...)
-3 point seatbelt including middle seat???
(typo)
-child safety locks(rear doors)
(typo as well)
-the red leather seats are the same 'sport bucket as the gt'however the
v6 leather is just 'bucket seat'?
They are different, I just wanted to point it out.
-Handling package -> Traction Control/ABS
Standard on the GT. Was this the package everyone was bubbling about..thinking lowered or IRS or something on the US order guide, which was removed.
-wrong numbers HP/Trq
(which we knew)
Makes me think even more its a work in progress, and probably getting revised shortly.

I too am curious about the "handling package" on the V6 -- especially as someone else noted in another thread that the base V6 has an anti-roll bar on the front only.
I'm wondering if the handling package (which is standard on the GT) upgrades the suspension to GT-spec on V6 cars, or if it's just marketing-speak for the traction control/ABS package option.
Knowing I'd never be able to afford a new GT in the near future, I'm hoping for the former, but betting on the latter! A base model coupe with a 5-speed and GT-spec suspension (and perhaps more aggressive tires) would be a very fun, affordable car.

Looks like the dealer still doesn't have the order guide.......I don't think I will sleep properly until I have ordered it, received it and parked it in the garage.

It seems the rumour may be true in that ALL 05 Stangs come with Spoilers.
Someone on Stangnet ordered a MG 05 GT and could not get a spoiler delete option when ordering.
Which means this order guide is up to date and states:
-Spoilers on V6 AND GT
-NO sport Appreance Package for the V6 (it already somes with it)
-NO spoiler delete option on the GT
It sucks, but I see that Ford is trying to streamline the Canadian stangs with less options. In fact the current stang has more options in that right.
I really don't mind the spoiler..I just wish we had a choice.

Talked to the Canadian Mustang Program Manager at oakville, he said they may do the spoiler delete in Canada for '06
I am not going to wait though... i'll patch it or swap decklids within a week of owning the car

Probably easier to drive to Buffalo to do the swap there vs. shipping etc.

Well I sure hope the dealership is wrong (like most dealerships) because they are now saying my mustang most likely will not show up until late december. Sort of goes against the job dates and the fact that Ford Canada is advertising the car will be available Fall of 2004. Last time I checked December was not considered to be "in the Fall".
