thermostat housing, shoulder brittle and breaking off...?'s

I have a 99 GT and the shoulder inside the thermostat housing on the instake manifold is starting to get brittle and break off. About half is gone now, and the thermostat will not seal completely, theres only so long that RTV lasts before the antifreeze eats it away. Starting to get annoying. Im wondering if anyone has a fix for this, besides the high dollar cost of replacing the whole intake manifold?

Thanks for any help

Unfortunately I do not believe there is. If it was me I would get the 01 -04 intake. The coolant crossover is metal verses the plastic on that is on the 94-00. You could get it from the Ford Motor Sports catalog for under $200.00. Gene Evans has them on the web site. http://www.gefracing.com/Merchant2/m..._Code=46INTAKE

It is the same as the factory part just no warranty. I has to replace the one on my 02 because one of the ferrells broke loose and I couldn't get a coil loose. Would up having to cut the bolt. this is the intake I used. a whole lot better than paying the $300 some odd dollars they wanted for the factory replacement part. It is the same part.

Try epoxy. It makes wonders on plastic radiator tanks so maybe it'll work until you can replace the manifold.
