Super Blue headlight bulbs
Has anyone tried the super blue headlight bulbs in their stangs? I was curious because I saw them at Walmart (ones made by GE) for 10.00/pair. Does it really improve night vision? Do they last? Thanks!
Blue headlights aren't AS common in the domestic world as they are for the import scene.
As a current Honda owner, I installed some of the legal blue headlights, the ones from Pep-Boys like $14 a piece. Well the problem I had was they were sold individually so one light was brighter than the other. Basically I had a ****-eyed car headlights, my friend and I switched them out a week later with a generic brand(EAGlite<---got an Eagle on it).
He gave to me free as a joke(he told me after we installed them), because another guy he knew used the same brand and the headlights blew out 2wks later. I had to make a 200+ mile trip in a few days so I was hoping they wouldn't blow out on my trip from Dallas to San Antonio. Those same headlights have been running strong for 3+yrs, so I guess the joke is on him now.
As far as performance....I noticed a wider visiblity and a softer color to look at. I hate those amber/yellow lights......I love my blue-ish lights, and wouldn't trade them for any other color.
Of course this being said...I put mine on a Honda....don't know how they'll look on a Stang.

The "blue" lights are filtered to produce the effect, making them look blue. What they dont' tell you is that the other colors (which would be red and green) are filtered out a bit.
However, even saying that, I myself notice a BIG difference at night. I have the worst headlight system, the Mark VIII Halogens, and changing to the SilverStars was a large improvement on the reflective things, such as signs and "road pucks," and a small difference in other things like the road itself. (There's not much to be done, the headlights just plain siphon with great vaccum, but any improvements...)
So that's my take. They are worth it, everything seems better with them. I'll be puttin' SSs on my Stang when I get it.

Hella had some super whites, that had just a slight blue tint...I used them on my ranger...granted they were 80/100's so it was much much brighter...I pretty much think I'll leave the factory, until I find something that I really like...
I've installed xenon fusion light bulbs from toucan in my 99 GT. They not only look great (similar to HID) but they are also bright as heck.
My headlights get a super white look at night. Maybe I can take some pictures with my Stang at night to show you how they look. I put them in a couple of months ago and it seems as they gonna last quite some time.
Got them at summitracing for $30/pair.
Bulbs, Xenon Fusion, 9007, 12 V, 65/55 Watt, Pair

Are blue tinted headlights actually legal? I was in traffic court 2 weeks ago and a kid there was found guilty for driving with blue tinted headlights. The judge said that just because pep-Boys sells them they are not legal. I see alot of people with them thoguh so I was just wondering.

The ones I've been using have a blue-ish white tint. Remember Lexus and other car companies use this exact color now.
The Pep-boys ones I had were legal they sported 100% legal.
I drive home after work(late night) I pass by plenty of cops nightly.....waiting for speeders why not pull over a headlight violater.
Always check before you buy though.
Update:
Before I took my car into the state inspection the state inspector said, "State of Texas doesn't allow blue lights." So immediately I left that place, disgusted.......I had passed 2 state inspections at the SAME EXACT LOCATION.
Later, I went to a local Jiffy Lube for an oil change. They said as long as the lights have DOT on the actual headlight then they are legal, and will pass state inspections.
