Shaking at 1k rpm
#1
I have a 95 Mustang GT, It is shaking alot at 1k rpms. I've changed out the plugs and wires, put in a new K&N air filter, Put in a new Fuel filter, and have had the fuel injectors cleaned. It shakes really bad at 1k rpms, but doesn't do it all the time. Sometimes it runs great. Anybody have any advice on what could be the cause of this?

have you checked your MAF sensor? Sometimes with K&N filters, if they have to much oil, the oil will pull through and coat teh sensor wire. You can use electrical contact cleaner or brake cleaner and get it cleaned off.

the 93-95 and 94-95 motors were junk and weak, and r known for those things, could be the K&N if not try a 89-92 motor (Install one)
This sounds drastic, but the 89-92 motors r of the best 5.0 motors built.

nah its not the motor if its running fine some of the time. Its got to be a sensor or something simple. Check your hoses for vacuum leaks as well

Could be a ton of different things. In shaky do you mean its studdering or missing or what? Could be fuel pressure, timing, coil, bad ground, and the list goes on and on. Also could be IAC(Idle Air Control) . Good luck with it.

well it's back to shaking again. by shaking i mean the engine is vibrating very badly, but only at 1k rpms. Doesn't seem like it is missing. I thought maybe it could be the motor mounts, but if that was the case it would shake like that all the time wouldn't it.

all 5.0 motors are junk and weak. But what a helluva motor, god rest its soul.
All 5.0 blocks are thinwall lightweight castings with hollow mains and pan rails. Cranks are light weight with external balancing and in about 93 ford switched from forged to hypereutectic castings. All the machine work was on old worn out machines and tolernance left much to be desired (My 91 had the deck machined at opposite angles), but heck those sloppy featherweight motors kept things going and going and are the basis for an entire aftermarket industry.

Umm I have to disagree. Not all 5.0's are junk and weak. I have seen plenty that pushed into the 500's on turbo and supercharged cars. Heck on of my best friends cars just threw down 331 hp with h/c/i. That was with 150 miles dtuned.
